The Brownlow Medallist is back in town playing for WAFL against VFL.

I wonder if we're going to get anybody here tonight saying he'd be handy in the red and blue these days?

Posted

I miss him but i dunno maybe the time has gone and past for him to return to the red and blue.

I not sure? He was a champion though

It was a disgrace what happened to Woewy !!

Who knows what we may have acheived if he was still at the club !!

Yeah, I miss his pulling out of contests and consisten failure during big games. I also miss how he failed to perform up to the level of the size of the huge contract his manager got for him from the club. Come back Woey, because you obviously proved that the pies what you're really worth.

Ok, /sarcasm off. Look, I loved Woey when he was at Melbourne, I loved his story of how he struggled to make it onto an AFL list and then his dream coming true with winning a Brownlow, but players come and go. Let's just celebrate his good times while at the club and leave it at that.

He had one great year, otherwise a hack.

That's harsh, he was a good average player who got the absolute best out of himself but was unable to produce the expected output after his manager got him that great contract.

Regardless of all the crap that occurred when he was moved on, he should be remembered as as no less than a champion of our club, and should always be welcomed back with open arms.

He won the ultimate individual playing honour wearing an MFC jumper, and was a key part of a team that had a great season (that we all went along an cheered for) that made the 2000 GF.

Respect where it's due!

Hopefully we can pick him up in the pre-season draft.

Anyone think he will make a comeback!? great to see him back in the red and blue where he belongs..

lmao

he was a good player who for one year played above himself, the other clubs played one on one with him and it was all down hill from there, smartest thing we ever did was trade him to the pies

Gee Sautner did OK today with 9 goals. For a moment there I thought I was watching a Sandringham game with Biddlecombe passing to Valenti to Summers to Crow to David Robbins (where did he come from?) and on to Nick. And did I notice 426 out there at one stage?

He played more than ONE good year for us. He was a very solid contributor to us for a number of years, then he faded and we had to dispose of him. He will never play AFL again. Quit joking around. I feel sorry for the guy and loved him in the Red n Blue, but the game has passed him by. All he can do now is pick up 40 useless possessions across half back in the WAFL.

woewy won the brownlow by default, mc leod was far and away the b@f in the comp that year. hes too slow but then again after the stunning success of recruiting holland and bizzell and too a lesser extent byron who knows, they might recruit him again......................not!

He wont a Brownlow for Gods sake! Yeah thats really average NOT! Love Woewodin was shattered when he left, I still have all the newspapers from when he won the Brownlow. Would love him to come back to the club working in some capacity as some sort of coach, fitness etc

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
