Is it just me or is CH7 panning to Maynard all the time?🤮

I think they're doing subliminal public service messaging:

'Kids, be careful what you ask the barber for; this is what you could look like.'

The number of times in the last that I saw Pies players throw their arms out at the umpire appealing for a free, as if in a tight game its expected to go their way and they should be allowed to win. Bad bloody luck! Ha!

As much as Darcy looks to be a young star, I also loved the composure of Sanders. He's a great addition to their midfield

Healthy percentage, the Doggies. Poised for a ladder leap, so keep the joy a bit contained, folks...

It’s up to us now. Beat Freo and the Pies and we go into the bye two games clear in the 8 guaranteed in the top 4. We have rarely taken these chances since 2021, cmon Dees! Two big wins! Set the season up, put Freo and Pies away!

Well he’s not happy to say the least but the excuses are just rolling thick and fast.
I'm being a tad annoying as I’ve watched the Maynard ‘footy act’ about 50 times. He’s getting a bit sick of me yelling ‘ Karma’ and that Darcy is my hero.

Oh dear jane we’re kindred spirits

I am not sure my +1 knows angus can’t play anymore as a consequence of that hit

she thinks I’ve become very weird about football

They were playing Super International Cricket on Super Nintendo and pressing the Y button repeatedly to appeal, hoping something would stick.

Roaming Brian is an absolute goose, but if your side wins he interviews all your lads who are happy to speak to him and it is a fantastic thing for the winning fans.  As long as it’s ABC

Look the message from this and every season is: if Melbourne can’t win the flag, then ANYONE except Collingwood

Always has been, always is, always will be.

Apart from Darcy, who looks like he's 18 playing against under 12s, really like the look of James O'Donnell too.  Kid can seriously play.  They have some spine developing.

But many big guys do you really need flying for the same ball.   I'd love JUH but here's a first rounder, give us Naughton please.

I swear when Lobb was playing for GWS he was a serious (almost gun) ruckman/forward. I’d watch GWS play and he would be pretty consistently prominent.

Was that incorrect? Or has he dropped off massively since going to Freo then Dogs?

The Dogs are a confidence team. i reckon they’ll lose 3 of their next 5 looking at the fixture. Not a premiership threat imo

dropped off massively. For a guy that is 205cm somehow allows smaller guys to out position him and he's a below average read in flight.   He was good tonight tho for someone who half the time looks like he doesn't care.

Yep second only behind the Swans

The Dogs have finally cracked it for 50 wins vs the Filth.

Only took them 100 seasons of footy to get there

    MORE FIERCE by Meggs

We’re back!  Winning the last three matches has recaptured our Demon spirit and, with superstar players returning from rehab, our Season 2024 dreams are not over yet.   So come along 5.05 pm Saturday afternoon to watch this Round 9 ladder-defining match at the Field of Dreams. Expect the Tigers to be fierce, but surely the Demons will be more fierce. Playing conditions are expected to be a dry 15 degrees with a typically gusty Cranbourne wind. The media opprobrium of the ill-consi

    IN FRONT by Meggs

In this must-win clash between Melbourne 11th on the ladder and St Kilda 8th, it was the Demons who were in front all day to win in a hard-fought Round 8 clash to make it three in a row to keep theit slim finals chances alive. A good crowd of enthusiastic footy families for week 2 of Pride Round had gathered.  The full pews in the well-appointed RSEA Park grandstand provided excellent viewing.   The Saints won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end favoured by a strong 2-3 g

    THE TRADING CHRONICLES 02

Part 2: Watching grass grow by Whispering Jack Critics of test cricket (and I’m not one of them) will often claim the sport is excruciatingly boring: that following a five day match is much like watching grass grow. However, the longest form of that game has nothing on the first week of the AFL trade period when it comes to inducing sleep among those in the football public who follows this process in its somnolent moments. The week gone by has been no exception. Only two player trades

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Meggs

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised
