Saturday morning is one of the best parts of my week. Lie in, brewed coffee and toast. All spoilt by having every media outlet (TV, social media & internet)gushing over everything Pies, Collingwood, and Daicos. Vomit inducing.

Having said that, yes Daicos can be soft, but he is an absolute gun if you give him a centimetre of space and has a habit of being "lucky" late in games. No luck, simply a very good footy brain and super skills to execute in high pressure moments. And channel 7 constantly showing his dad Peter is excruciating, but he is now a channel 7 person so this is going to go on for some time.

Is it wrong to want a whisky so early in the morning? I will leave the Dalmore, and maybe go the Monkey Shoulder (best budget whisky in the world). This might get me over all this Collingwood BS.

Does not complimenting Daicos earn you  3 weeks on Lands sidelines.?

Saved by alcohol reference I guess

Was at the MCG last night. Other than the first quarter, Collingwood out tackled, out pressured a fairly listless Carlton. Quite simply the Pies were hungrier, wanted it more and Carlton had too many passengers. The worst performance by the Blues this season and amazingly still only lost by one late goal (mostly due to the goals of McKay and Owies).

If the Blues bring that level of intensity on Thursday the Dees will win.

I think McGovern is back for next week so perhaps a bit more stability in defence might be seen for the Blues.

Still, I think the Blues are playing better than last season at the same time and being competitive and a chance to win even when not switched on.

This is going to sound strange because I know we don't pull the crowds, but I was surprised they didn't get at least 90,000 last night

88,500 is still a big crowd for a Friday night.

I hate the filth. That daicos goal made me vomit.

I put watching a Pies win and a pap smear on the same level of enjoyment.

Except one is necessary and can save my life, the other is just torture for no gain.

You could put the pies and the Pap smear in the same petrie dish without causing confusion.

Did I just hear the commentator say welcome to a sold out SCG?? It's either half empty or a lot of people have come dressed as aqua coloured seats.

I reckon visiting interstate clubs bring a bigger crowd with them to the SCG than GWS do.

I expected a bigger crowd at the SGC. quite a few empty seats

Coz Gws usually pants Sydney and the Swan's fans are the biggest fair weather supporters about. But I'm expecting a Sydney win today.

That's because all interstate clubs bar Gold Coast have far bigger fan bases. I would hazard a guess that Pies have more NSW based fans than GWS have fans in total.

Or perhaps the SCG to them is what Marvel is to our "supporters".

James Jordon.  Nice goal.   Wish he was still at the Dees.  A free agent gift to the Swans.

The bloke 23 Hogan for the Giants looks like a very good key forward.  😭😭

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
