Amazing first possession goal from Sullivan

Blues are a hot mess this quarter

Blues starting to panic.

Pies getting their turnover game together off HB the last few weeks.  Bit of a worry

More stoppages. Less chaos. More contest to contest. Exactly how we beat them Kings Birthday last year.

You can’t panic, and try and run and gun. That’s how they want it.

Does anyone else find it funny that Buckley has been involved with the Pies almost non stop for 35 years, yet only played in 3 losing GFs and missed the two GF wins?

IIMO the difference in forward structures tonight is akin to what we’ll see tomorrow night. One team with two bigs and not much by way of small goal kickers, and the other with one tall (yet to score) and one or two dangerous smalls (Elliot, Daicos).

Yes. Yes I do 😁

Only looking to see the Blues strengths and weaknesses. Fair chance we’ll be playing the Blues with them coming off two losses.

Just so I could watch Joel Selwood interview a 10 year old auskicker.

He was so uncomfortable.

Owies putting himself at risk doing that stuff

Maynard drives his head into the turf and the commentators give it the all clear. He obviously took a dive and drove his own head into the turf.

Such a dog.

He'll get off again.

It was such a textbook piledrive from Maynard, I'm hoping a few weeks.

Commentary so putrid about it - if there was ever a player with prior form.

Owies flipped him. Dislike Maynard all you want (I most definitely do) but that was all on Owies.

Hahahaha, thought the same. A champion but he has the charisma of a box of saladas

The Pies tackling has got them back into the game. They were asleep for the first 10 minutes.

no one in the league throws the ball as blatantly as Cripps

Copy and paste this into the notes on your phone BDA. I post it every week.

I take back what I said about the Blues not having a small forward.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
