Brown Dog jr could be a better player than the Kolt.

Or... they might both end up being VG players

Hunter’s been very professional late but he’s still fallen over when there’s any kind of contest and had penetration in the legs, couldn’t get near picking him on this performance

I'll politely disagree.  I'd go as far to say he is a certainty to be in the 23 against the Tigers.  Match winning second half.

Interesting that Turner went forward and looked excellent until he then went behind the ball once we had the lead. He is too good for VFL, even after a stint off, is this the attempt to find him an AFL spot as the third tall forward if/when Brown wains?

A good comeback against mature bodies on a skinny ground. There is something to work with, with Verrall, Pup and possibly Sestan.

Whether it’s this year or next, we are going to need another tall forward be it to replace Brown or Petty or both.
Perhaps the club is confident that Adams will come good down back and will be able to replace Tmac/May in the longer term, and they see a more immediate need to find another fall forward. Also with Hore now on the list, there is probably a bit of overlap for that third intercept defensive role.

Some encouraging performances today Kynan Brown 3 goals, 8 tackles. Bailey Laurie 13 hand passes, 17 tackles! Will Verrall 31 hitouts, 4 tackles 20 disposals. Daniel Turner 9 marks, 3 tackles, 1 terrific last qt. goal. Oliver Sestan 20 disposals 3 goals. AMZ 6 tackles, 16 disposals. Tom Fullarton 2 goals 7 marks, 21 disposals. Josh Schache 3 goals, 7 marks, and Lachie Hunter 22 disposals, 4 tackles (mostly in the second half).

Mate of mine said Shack attack went of early with what looked like a broken collarbone, but came on and was very physical which is great!

Jeffo developing some  real forward craft.

Yes. I keep hearing he is a wonderful mark of the football. Except today he didn't take any. But on a positive note, his 4 disposals is 3 more than he had in the last final Casey played in.

I don't think I have ever seen a player with less presence, at any level.

Someone has to take this kid aside and tell him the facts of life.

What I like about Turner is he crashes packs with force when going for a pack mark, he is also a good reader of the play and a good kick and mark.

I couldn't of put it better myself. Here's a kid with as much chance of making the grade as me.

Just when these players need a game to display match day skills we get another bye.

There's possibly some life in Laurie.

Don't mind players being exposed to other positions especially the half forwards and pockets.

BBB should only play 3 out of every five games IMO. There's a spot which would probably have gone to Joel S in the off weeks but it's definitely up for grabs.

McAdam at the next Casey match could be worth the entry fee

Agree. He has some speed about him and decent ground ball skills for a tall as well. I would give it a go.

If you check today’s statistics l’ve probably got egg on my face. When the game result was being fiercely contested in the last quarter. Two team orientated interventions from young Jefferson contributed to the Casey win. A cool handball in the goal square melee to Pup Brown. Allowing him the minimal time and space to snap a goal to take the lead for Casey for the first time. Followed up by a goal face shepherd which helped extend the Casey lead. Very small steps in the big picture but there is a glint of light there.

I’m hopeful the old adage tall forwards take time applies. But l can understand why people make early calls. I’m sure the decision makers don’t want egg on their faces. There was a recent contract extension provided to young Jefferson, so they are keeping the faith. But the ball is in Jeffo’s court.

I dunno Roost, you showed plenty for the Chum Creek under 9s. Show a bit of patience. Some kids develop at different pace. Remember how some were calling for McVee to be delisted at the start of last season.

Wandered down today to sunny Franga, quickly inserting myself into the quarter time huddle and congratulating the Kolt on playing his first game. Max, JVR were there also.

Very small crowd and found myself standing next to Alan Richardson, McWalter? and Goody.

What I can say is that, through a little subtle eaves dropping, (I.e. reading a newspaper with two eye holes for visibility) the following definitely  impressed Goody and Richo:

Sestan

Lachie Hunter - particularly second half.

Verall

Choco Williams is a great clubman. Gets around players. A master of instilling belief.

I’ve watched about 15 Casey games with him in them. He has shown nothing to suggest he’s going to make it. Doesn’t take marks, doesn’t kick goals, doesn’t hit packs and is only an average kick.

You're making this up. As far as I remember nobody ever called for McVee to be delisted.

Where's your proof  ??

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
