joeboy - keep on punchin’

A consistent and fair appraisal overall. Goody in his presser seemed pleased that Sammy Mitchell persisted with his master tagger. Just leaves the hawks one short offensively at the centre bounces and ball ups. The Demon onball collective appeared to enjoy an even team orientated performance. Clayton Oliver contributed manfully with 23 possessions despite quote ‘couldn’t shake opponent’ and being the focus of some extracurricular physical attention. With 14 disposals in the Round 23 clash last season that triplet would fit. Given the coach’s tactical response and the fact that #13 had an over 60% improvement in possessions this time.

Oliver - cunning plan gazumped

Ed watch 26 disposals at 76.9% DE 4 tackles at 92% ToG%.

Langdon - kicks klicks quick

Young Caleb’s GPS data must be impressive considering his youth. Great addition to the Winger’s club.

Windsor - has the tank

Nice on Fritta - loved it when he outbodied Sicily to mark and goal in the last qtr, who went down like a sack of spuds

Good to see him back to his best.

As much as I don't like Sicily I can see why the Hawks fought to keep him in. They would have been beaten by another four goals.

And I reckon if the paid even a quarter of the incorrect disposals against both teams the game would have flowed more and we would have scored more.

With three talls playing Fritta is at his best. Admittedly Bbb was down, Petty moved back and Jvr in the ruck may have given him more room.

Also since the inclusion of more talls, Chandler, Kozzie and Nibbler are kicking more goals.

I'm sure the Hawks threw extra numbers around the ball after the first quarter and it became a bit of a bog fest.

I'm wondering if Chol has form for using knees and feet out. Was all legit against Maysie but still punishing. He also led with his foot out in the ruck and clipped Jvr on the head. Very dangerous. A touch of Toby G perhaps.

I've also thought Hawks are a dirty team and the way they went after Oliver confirmed my beliefs.

Anyway, for so very long we have been their bunnies so I'm revelling in the amount of wins we've had over them recently.

That was right in front of me and i had perfect real time view. I will hate anyone for life if they wrong a Melbourne player. May was flying back like the clappers at an angle courageously, Chol had every right to do what he did.

Having seen the replay, I suspect the damage to May's ribs was caused by Chol landing on top of May who was partially lying sideways on the ground. I doubt it was the collision itself (and even if it was, Chol did nothing wrong).

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
