Paxy in, yay. Aside from missing Fitzsimmons I don’t think we could get any stronger

Agree, though I wouldn't mind Colvin getting a go at some point. Tough team to break into.

Good call, I had forgotten about Colvin. It will be interesting to see how A. Mackin progresses too. Could be a wild card for later in the season

Same.  I prefer Colvin to Birch

Where do the players that miss get match practice?

I'm really interested to see Mackin but how does she learn the game?

  • Demonland changed the title to AFLW: Rd 03 vs Western Bulldogs

Looking to continue a great start to the season.  The team looks fit and well drilled and a strong group together, which is expected from a team that didn't lose anyone to other teams.

Looking forward to watching the game, let's see if we can break 100 at Casey this season.

When the ALFW round preview has you tipped as 50 point winners, something is up.

Basically they are saying that our winning margin will be more than what six teams have even managed to score in total for the first two rounds.

North currently have a better percentage than us because they've almost entirely prevented anyone from scoring against them, but that doesn't change the fact that we have given away the third fewest points against us while also scoring 50% more than any other team.

I think we're in with a chance, here.

But look who North have played, makes such a big difference for percentage.  We have a great percentage considering who we played in the first 2 rounds.

Pretty sure that if we win this game, Melbourne gains the record for the longest AFLW winning streak, surpassing Fremantle's 11-game streak during 2020-2021.

Melbourne's Casey win-loss record: 21-5
WB's Casey win-loss record: 0-1
Melbourne's win-loss record against WB: 5-2 (9-4 including pre-AFLW) Last time they met in R7 2022B, it was a 64-point win to Melbourne
WB's 2023 formline: The Bulldogs have started the season 0-2 and are coming off a 7-point loss to Hawthorn

After last nights torture and disappointment I am looking forward to a (hopefully) straight forward win

I'm looking forward to watching the girls play as well. I love how they go about it. Joy to watch.

I love Maxy and the boys as well but watching them play is draining. It's almost suffocating.

I think we'll win big again today. The doggies have really fallen away the last year or 2.

Dees by 30+ points

Not our game but this has got to be a first.

@picket fence would know how to deal with this.

Let's go girls!!!

Please girls, improve my weekend!

is there anything in life as reliable as the Casey gale. 3 goal per quarter breeze by the looks of it.

hope bannan isn't too badly injured. looks like a bad sprain of the ankle

Just arrived here to the eerie silence, as Bannan being helped off in rather a knee-like manner...

Yes, 🫰

Scoring pattern: deja vu all over again...😉

the wind is spoiling this game as usual. I really don't like Casey Fields.

However...😄

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
