As of last year, on Grand Final day, if you were successful in the MCC GF ballot you could not enter the ground until after 12pm. As such, they deactivated the member barcode that was attached to the reserved seat in the ballot. Otherwise, a member with a reserved seat from the ballot could walk up and take a better seat on the day.

Okay - understand now.

MCC members with a reserved seat can't enter until 12pm because presumably all unreserved seats would be taken by then. Very tricky.

The club allocations start at 50:50 but do not finish at 50:50 because bays get reallocated. Calrton ended up with 70% of the public reserve and so they will have around 70% of the crowd.

mcc 23k.

Club allocation is about 45k and the remaining 5k are corporates.

Don’t know where your ga number is coming from there is no GA, there were about 1000 tickets left over from the member allocations and today there were none.

I couldn't believe my luck. I got in within a few minutes! However most of the seats seemed to have been exhausted. I managed to grab a couple of tickets in M2 behind the goals.

I find it hard to cop that someone has decided that the forward pockets are considered Catergory 1 tickets and sell the same as Level 2, especially when bays next to them are Catergory 2 and are selling cheaper.

There are plenty of bays up on level 2 that should be allocated to Premium Demons supporters first as it is our home game.  No different to how we have to sit GA on away games during the regular season.  Absolute [censored] system.

Im not sure your seating map is correct. 

On this map https://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/mcg/seating-map the Cat 1 bays on level 1 extend from the 50m arc to the wing.

I assume all Cat 1 to Cat 7 seats are split 50/50 as it should be. 

I also assume there's very few level 2 seats available to (Premium) members as they have been allocated to coterie groups, sponsors, etc. Players are allocated 4 tickets and have access to 6 more (as I understand). Fair chance they're Cat 1.

I think your GA split is a bit too one sided towards Carlton. To say Carlton has a 4:1 ratio of supporters is a bit far fetched. I think it’s probably more 8k Melbourne and 12k Carlton. 
 

I know the roar was loud with Collingwood but the roar of that first Fritsch goal was a lot more than 35k people.

Correct. Initially level 1, 2 and 2A were 50:50 and level 4 was about 60:40 their way.

By the end of the on sale it was 70:30 their way because we weren't filling our allocation.

Yes but be realistic please, there will have been 3 times the demand from Carlton supporters because they are probably three times the size of us and they are up and about. Think its very reasonable to expect that there would have been more Carlton supporters in the queue

Maybe, but once you remove MCC/AFL members there are, what 55k tickets left for sale to members? 50/50 split means 27.5k MFC members, surely we would fill that allocation? If we don't, fine release them to CFC members the next day but at least give us the opportunity to purchase them before the 4 hour window expires.

If there are 30k MFC members and 90k CFC members after tickets doesn't give them a right to our allocation just because there is more of them. Especially when reallocations are happening within 30-45 minutes if tickets going on sale when many members were still in the queue and hadn't had a chance to purchase tickets yet.

Exactly this. It shouldn't matter what the demand in the system is. The window of ticket availability for members is there, and we are entitled to our rightful allocation rather than having tickets reallocated within the first hour of availability. Why even bother having the allocation if they are going to do this? One part of purchasing a club membership is the benefit it gives you in terms of finals tickets access.
