Brilliant - Free the Demons AFLW premiership doco

Feel slightly conflicted given my daughter plays for the hawks, but go Dees!

I was at the practice match at Casey on Saturday. It’s hard to see anyone getting close to Melbourne tbh. Think North might be the biggest threat, as Lions and Crows have lost key players - however their home ground advantage means a lot.

Exceptional circumstances here Spalding. You must be really proud.
Maybe support the Hawk AFLW side during the home and away and come back to the Dees if the Hawks don’t make finals?

Tissues please.....🥲

Wow, that was special. Memories and the feeling rushing back.

How blessed were/are we to have this group represent our club. The love and respect they have for each other is palpable. So deserving Premiers and I expect more to come.

They have to show this doco to the men's team and get Mick to talk to them before finals. "Brisbane unbeatable at home"  - sound familiar? When you have the talent, and above all, the belief in each other, it happens.

And now, after renewing my MFC AFLW seasons ticket, I'm about to watch the replay of the girls winning the flag.

DO NOT DISTURB

Loved the way players referenced Fitzsimon’s game (the run down tackle and the smother response) and what that represented for the team. It’s not fearing failure and knowing how to respond to mistakes - because footy’s full of them - that got us the cup.

Also, I’m officially on Tayla goal-celebration watch this season 😂

I’m sitting here, many months later, with tears in my eyes (again!). A brilliant  production, about a brilliant team of young women who did us all proud.
Let’s go Premiership (AFL) and Premiership (AFLW) in 2023. ❤️💙

Wow! So, so proud of this team of INCREDIBLE athletes. Incidentally, Mick choking up when talking about how he desperately wanted Daisy to win a premiership was so moving. He’s a great coach and a beautiful person.

So excited for Season 8 to begin! We play Collingwood in the season opener… 7:20pm on Friday 1 September at Ikon (that’s the AFL pre-finals bye weekend). Let’s get as many people there as possible! Our girls (reigning premiers, no less) deserve the love and support.

GO DEES IN 2023!!!!

Such a great team. Definitely brought a tear to my eye.

I'll never forget being there live to watch them grab their first cup.

We've let Daisy go but I really hope we keep Stinnear within our club for a long time.

Improv training. What a crazy concept. I think it might have really helped the team bond even closer.

What a great month or two we've got ahead of us as a club.

Super proud.

Wonder where she will fit this year?

With McNamara back I would assume she will take one wing and Mackin the other.

Then we have sister Aimee...

It's going to be even tighter for spots in the team this year.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
