GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton

Viney has got to realise a mung ball into our f50 quickly is better than a turn back to your left side and a two meter handball to a guy surrounded by three opponents.

Give the forwards a chance.

Don't let them get a goal before 3/4 time Dees

Well done Max.... looking for the short shallow pass ! 😄

It's hard watching us sober.

I didn't know we played drunk.

I reckon if Max didn’t whinge as much he might get more free kicks.

Wasted opportunities in those last couple of minutes.

Do I want to return to my Carlton friends or continue watching by myself?

C’mon!

Let’s find that next gear!

For mine:

Hibbo on

Smith forward

JJ off

Cheers Goody

We finished that qtr the better team.

Let's finish it off and never speak of this game again

seem to be getting the game on our terms there after carlton got it out to 14 a couple of times. four goal Q could do it

We’re on top. Carlton couldn’t sustain the heat they were bringing. We’ll win it now.

Hibb on Martin finally.

Had to be Hibb in with Joel going forward from the start surely.  Joel looks all at sea down back imv.

Watch by yourself, preserve your sanity Layzie!

Carlton are hard at the ball in numbers....hard to believe they are suddenly so good...

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
