Tomorrow now turns to being such a crucial and season defining game.

Win, and win by a few goals and we can easily slot into 3rd.

Remember, since 2000, no one has won the premiership finishing 4th..

But do we want to finish 3rd.?????????????????

An interstate  first week QF, then possibly Pies in the Prelim.if we win week 2 (or possibly if we win Week 1)

No thanks.

No,  we want to finish second, and if we win our games, and Port lose to Adelaide tonight and Geelong at Geelong (on the rebound) next week, then it is very achievable.

Should be anywhere, anytime mentality.

If Port lose tonight, then we have a good chance of grabbing 2nd spot as I think Port will drop at least one more game.

That’s assuming we win all remaining games. Swans and Blues are no easy beats.

You and me and many others but their good results for Melbourne

There is a danger that we could finish 3rd, though we only need to win the next 7 straight for 🏆 regardless

I do wonder if the other top 4 teams have got their conditioning right. They all look pretty cooked.

Looking forward to the demonland podcast analysis of this question

Looks like a Thai immigration police mafia official. Please dont post that again. Im trying to relax  here in Bangkok.  jeesuz.

Horrible clash with Jones and Alir.   Both look concussed.  Big moment for this game and next week v Cats and maybe the next v GW$

Crows should win it from here and port will have lost 3 on the trot with Cats next week without a backline. Did Hinkley get his contract extension?

How can Alir Alir be back on the field? That looked like a concussion. If only to prevent any danger to the player.

Aliir back on the ground. What an effort!

mmmm….. not so sure. Hope the concussion test was done thoroughly.

No 50 against Dixon.  Didn’t return the ball, and gave lip. Would have been a certain Crow goal.

Probably passed his test which he deliberately did poorly on in the preseason control.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
