Excellent analysis but a little unfair to ANB, who may lack finesse but was often in the thick of the action.

And maybe a bit generous to Jordon, who strikes me as a trier who hasn't quite got what it take\s.

ANB had the 6th most disposals for the dees and the 8th most on ground. He had 20 pressure points: our third highest and 7th on ground. Kicked a goal and had a goal assist.

So "rarely sighted" is a bit harsh.

Plays role continuously?

Limited but industrious?

Always gets involved?

Contributed but flawed?

He had the equal 2nd most clangers and 3rd worst disposal efficiency. In other words, the less he has of it the better.  And I'm not having a go, I'm just stating facts. His strengths is when the opposition has it.

His missed handball to Brayshaw running past inside 50 with under 2 minutes left was a wtf moment.

We're so lucky that no other dees players make clangers - just nibbler.

Sheesh.

He's just probably unlucky that most of his turnovers result in momentum killers or opposition goals.

We all know he’s one of Goody’s favourites so regardless of how many times he fumbles, turns it over, kills momentum etc he ain’t never going to get dropped. I’m ok with that.

Rinse and repeat with Kozzie et …?

Kossie was clinical with his 2 opportunistic goals. He finished with a lazy 3. Loved Melks 2 goals obviously, but Viney ripping the ball out of the Brisvegas player's hands then weaving through congestion to snap an inspirational goal was the catalyst for the set up. Son of Woey's goal was worth being at the G alone was a pearler.

Guaranteed 100%  if  dees play in GF so will ANB. He's red and blue and always in the thick of things even if he does mupp it. ie that wonky kick in the dying minutes; should of had a snap at goal. Doesnt matter he wont get dropped. Ask Gawn and Viney . No problem.

If anyone gets enough possessions mostly in the thick of it under extreme pressure there will be turnovers and changers.
The only players who rarely turn over / Clanger are those who never get the ball.
Sure ANB could be better and I am sure he, and the coaches, know this.

Remarkable he gets keep getting  selected.

I suspect there is not a single dees player who had played more games since the start of the 2021 season.

He had missed just two games of 75 games, inclusive of 5 finals and a premiership medal.

It is just flat out an insult to suggest goody would pick players because he Plays favourites.

For petes sake goody is a among the true elite of coaches.

150 games at 58% win ratio. And a premiership medal.

And his whole focus is winning more flags.

And nibbler is a lock in his best 22 because he believes nibbler will help us win another flag.

But sure posters on a football forum know more about nibblers ability, how critical he is to our team and what he brings to the team than goody.

We literally blew our 2022 premiership chances because the coach played favourites all year and chose to go in with injured and underdone players over Casey players who lost one game for the season.

Meanwhile, Geelong’s Dad’s Army team managed their players correctly through the year and won the flag.

Goodwin is working with a once in 20 year quality list, we should be contending for multiple premierships.

ANB is a role player, his role can be replaced by many other players. And I don’t care what Tom McDonald thinks about this.

Or goody it would appear.

But you know better of course.

And sure, let's ignore the opinion of an AFL listed player who has played 150 odd games at the elite level.

Coz, you know randoms on a football forum with zero access to internal metrics and kpis have got a better handle on players performances.

*nb tmac is on record has saying the high half forward role nibbler plays is, and this is a direct quote- 'by far the hardest role in football"

"Pickett - some timely cameos."

He kicked 3 goals and gave a beauty to Trac.

Can the cameo be updated to a smallish diamond brooch?

Isn't it funny how when "we" get a set on a player, nothing he does is good enough.

When a bloke is thought of so highly by the blokes who go into the paddock with, then I feel he is something special.

ANB may not have the smoothness of some players, but neither does Jack VIney , but the Club is lucky to have two players with so much heart !! (Viney's goal should be goal of the year !!! purely because of the attitude that enabled him to do it.

ANB plays with heart and the players around him know that !!!!

I think that is all understood. Most of us appreciate Nibbler’s important role in the team, however some of his turnovers are absolute shockers. He’s a good player but he has flaws.

Crazy on ANB. Top 6 on ground

I wouldn't go that far. He fumbled a lot. I would say his game was serviceable. That's a nice safe position.

ANB and Kozzie were better than serviceable. Petty was good on Hipwood and Daniher until injured.

The biggest change in the last two weeks has been BBB and Melksham. Having 2 experienced forwards, leading up the ground and competing strongly makes things much more open.

The opposition last night is probably the form side of the competition. No witches hats there.
