Why?

Division is hurting this world.

Let's all just get along.

Buying your way into separation, wow. Like the lotus flower, growing out of the muck, and believing the muck isn't there. An illusion that some believe membership can solve.

Personally I like both sides of a debate.

Please go up to the staff and report people drinking or sitting in reserved areas without the proper ticket!

Agree with the substance use in the dry area. What hope do families have so that drug isn't a highlight.

Zorko isn’t their captain this year, they have Andrews and Neale as co-captains. https://www.lions.com.au/news/1276699/captaincy-announcement

I said he was their captain. I know he isn’t anymore. But the fact that he was to begin with is a joke.
Neale is a superb player but he is not a leader.

Early in the 4th I was just thinking about Milkshake's game and could only think what a Jekyll and Hyde performance.

Then... oh golly gosh.

Now I'm thinking....

Gandalf vs the Balrog

Ironman/Captain America against Thanos.

Rand Al' Thor against the Dark One.

The Emperor of Mankind v Horus Lupercal

Sorry, getting my nerd on.

That was epic and I'm so happy for him. [censored] immense.

But was it as good as

Bela vs the Dark one?

Mat vs responsibility?

Dorn vs Perturabo?

Wolves vs Sons?

Gwenpool vs Reality?

😄

What a great start.

What a great finish!

What's the stoppages about. Scragging everywhere as we try to get the free player to the rucks feet. Again the oppo play the man and no support from the umps.

Looks like the coaches are able to switch things up these days.

Some over-handballing along the boundary. I guess the worst that can happen is a stoppage.

BBB will start clunking them, got hands to many, and helped the crumbers.

After Woeys goal, thought we would put the foot down. I had to wait.

Thought Viney was looking banged up, then snatch, wow.

A team building finish, sets us up for a good run with belief and momentum.

The oppo fans giving it to Melky earlier. What a presence, gee they didn't like that.

What a good weekend.

I'm listening to the Pies v Freo game and I can't help but wonder if Luke Jackson had his time again, whether he'd still be with us? I know, cash, friends etc.

Yes but LJ loves his family & surfing far above his footy.  We will wish him the best after helping us break the premiership hoodoo in 2021.

He made a very clear choice. He values his personal life over his football life. Good luck to him.

A difference of opinion isn’t hurting the world anywhere near as much as antagonism.

I’m cool to sit with my people.

The biggest separator we have.

Quick shout out to the MFC members sitting in row E in bay N12 in the Warnie stand who left with 10 minutes to go in the last. We had a chuckle at your expense after the game in the bar.

I actually agree with you Kev. I just can’t stand supporters who only go to the footy to antagonise other people.

Viney kicked goal of the year

talk about willing your team across the line

wow

Viney is a natural left-footer, but this time he kicked it with his right foot. By the way, Melksham kicked his 1st goal with his left foot, 2nd goal with his right foot. Kozzie can do it both as well.

Sure is.  A good recent example was (listening to ABC driving home last night) Kelli Underwood bringing it up in the context that she said Steven May was the only player not to run up to Melksham to congratulate him on that final goal.

Pathetic Kelli. Just a talking head .  Malthouse to his credit batted away the insinuation.

That’s disgraceful. Melksham and May are actually good friends. They had a moment, and it ended up being a public incident.

That’s so poor to try and create a link to that, where none exists.

I believe some of that antagonism comes from a sense of separation.

The games build up by MC's and advertisers also encourage us and them.

I believe in the AFL community as a whole, and not as separate tribes.

A bit funny aren't I. Sing both songs, applaud both sides, though heavily invested in MFC as well.

I also understand why there is a need to keep away from it. I am often cautious and will walk on the better side of the street and not into the more dangerous areas.

Ok then, I believe you

I only looked once so might have got caught up but what I remember is that I saw 26.40 (or thereabouts) thinking that there was probably 3 or 4 minutes left

And I didn't feel like more than a minute had passed before the siren went

The biggest take out of last night is that Christian Petracca confirmed he is the best player in the league by a mile.

Sublime skills, a joy to watch and a great man, were blessed to have him.

I hate it. When I was a kid we would sit in the old red seats, MFC members reserve in the Olympic stand.

I don't mind sitting with opposition supporters sometimes but I hate being outnumbered every single week especially when we're playing interstate teams. I went for an MFC membership about 10 years ago but the seats we got were in the southern stand next to AFL members. I might have to try my luck at MFC reserve in northern stand next year or sitting up on level 4 there occasionally.

To get away from the AFL members this season I’ve got seats in the MFC area, Olympic Stabd M53 right on the 50. Unfortunately it is the last bay of the MFC area & the empty seats are constantly filled up by opposition supporters. It’s really annoying as I’d gone out of my way to avoid hearing opposition clowns.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
