For a bloke that put his mate into next week, Rohan definitely played a good game.

So  I think this works

is there another way ?

Rohan   5 and 5

Stewart 4 and 2

Tracca.  4 and 1

Close.          3 and 2

Viney           3

Lever         1

Sad to see Oliver so far down the list.

It's a strawman. Unless you think Butters polled his 70+ votes against us...

No its not... not ar all. Not conversant with the goings of the Port Game ?

A certain adversarial player was opening us up. So much so even our brains ( sic) trust gave consideration to him.  Then decided to leave him alone. That is nor my summary..that's on record ( somewhere)

The man who allowed Butters free reign... Simon Goodwin.

In life you can only control ( affect ) the things you can. Here he [censored]'d up.

He clearly didnt give due respect to the player. Others have .

You might disagree... your prerogative.

And the vast majority of touches were to 3/4 time... when we were ahead.

Our players didn't get the job done in the last.

FWIW, I would have played Viney on him, but it wouldn't have mattered at all, if JVR hadn't havegiven thstfree kick away or Chandler kicks his goal or Fritta kicks his.

Zak got 5 votes from both coaches.

Man of the match.

We need to make better decisions.

Viney to him might have worked but Jacks efforts are more valuable..imho.. possibly what the box thought.. who knows.

Id have sent some Terrier with a tank.to just wear him as best as can.... just niggle him..  even Spargo could do that.

Anyway...my point was we cant rely on our game alone. All well and good to back in.our blokes....need to lift eyes and accommodate theirs too ...at times..  jmo.

Imagine letting Rohan score a perfect 10 against you.

I dunno…..I had him pretty high up in my votes at quarter time. 👀

Viney himself was tagged that night as referenced in Ollie Wine's post match interview

Who'd da thunk such things.....

The opposition apparently..

I wasn't at the game - not many visiting supporters ever do down there 🤮 even if they want to - and relying on TV to get a broad view of the game is impossible as they love to zoom in or more recently show the players legs at ground level.

Was anyone "on" Rowan??  He seemed to have free rein from what I saw.

Exactly. I'd have tried to throw the tag by shifting him across to Butters, but we should have won regardless and didn't get the job done.

Maybe , just maybe he's suggesting Goody shouldn't let him get 42 touches next time.....

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
