Little Richard 6,265 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Chandler is solid, plays a great second fiddle to Pickett in the small forward pecking order. Don't think we need to change anything there. 3 Quote
Demon Jack 7,194 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Really liked his game yesterday. Kept working hard up the ground and took a career high 8 marks (the late one on Reid was a particular highlight). Lines up for game 50 against the Bombers this weekend (alongside Kozzy for his 100th). 4 2 Quote

Absolutely. he played tall again at times yesterday showing his ability in the air and his body work at a couple of critical times. I like the mix too with Kozzie. 2 Quote
layzie 34,528 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Tracking along nicely. If any criticisms at all I'd love to see him snag more goals with 'half chances' but he's doin alright. 3 Quote

TassieDevil 156 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I read somewhere (I think) that he was leading the comp in tackles inside forward 50. 2 Quote

Maldonboy38 6,435 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I prefer Spargo at his best as our 2nd small forward, but his form is a long way in the past at the moment. Goodwin and Co love effort-based players and Chandler is definitely that. He has periods of improvement followed by periods of stagnation but all things considered it has been a constant increase in output, form and effectiveness. I would like to see him kick more goals, especially those he shouldn't be missing, but love what he brings to our team. Glad to see him re-sign. 4 Quote
ANG13 2,110 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Could he become a wingman? I think he uses the ball better than Langdon and he has a high work rate? 2 Quote

I thought he was very good yesterday and has been much more consistent this year - last year, he ran out of steam by this stage. He seems to be Nibbler-esque in his team first mentality and a couple of the younger guys have mentioned him as a role model. His contested marking is excellent for his size: there was one that he took at full stretch on the Shane Warne wing, where he beat a much taller opponent. The highlight, though, was in the final couple of minutes, when he sat Harley Reid down in a crunching marking contest (I’d love to see a replay of that!). Well done Chin - keep it up son. Didn't just get Reid. Got McGovern a beauty in the centre of the ground half way through the last quarter. Gov still in hospital from that one: https://www.afl.com.au/news/1168188/eagle-grounded-with-broken-rib-punctured-lung 1 Quote
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I like Chandler. He is explosive, and works hard off the ball. 2 2 Quote

PARK ME🤯 Defensive forwards are the cornerstone of all good sides and are worth their weight in gold. If you have one, you keep them. If you don’t, you pay a fortune to bring them in. 3 years is I small contract in todays game. 5 Quote
