CH 7 going all out to hurt our ears with the return of Basil. Surely they can find someone else.

They had to put out an SOS call to him because JB is in the UK with the cricket & Luke Darcy had to do mmm this afternoon. I guess they thought Basil was in his home state so they thought they'd use him

Eloquence is over rated at times.

In the words of chaotic dischord “sometimes you need to be obscene to be heard”

ChatGPT offered the following revision for improved eloquence:

"Umpires are employing the utilization of barbed wire encircling the shaft prior to insertion."

The umpire failed to quickly call a ball up then, causing a player to be continually spun around in a tackle until his momentum created a slinging tackle.

That’s really poor.

They got us in the finals last year but The Lions really don't like the MCG.

We almost beat them with half a team on one leg.

Absolute pea hearts when they leave the Gabba.

Was it just my son and I that thought the Freo player threw himself at the ground to win the sling tackle free?

That Freo player just launched himself into the turf while being tackled, and milked a dangerous tackle free! Is this what the game has become?

Come on Tigers!

I cannot believe we lost to Freo 😭

The Tigers showing that if you play close checking, strong over the ball footy, play on quickly with forward HBs plus some decent run you will beat this mob convincingly.

Soft as butter and we allowed them to beat us on our home deck with no Walters and a ruckman down for most of the last half 😮‍💨

How on earth has this game become evidence of how rubbish we are?

I don't go on to game day threads because of that sort of rubbish.

And I come on this game day thread to enjoy some nice, freo getting beat clean fun.

And still have to read how rubbish we are.

Did anyone rabbit on about how we flogged the hawks by near on 10 goals and the lions got beaten by them today?

Ipso facto we are better than the lions.

Or the fact that we beat a very good tigers team on anzac eve.

This is a dees forum isn't it?

They’re playing the conditions perfectly. Something we need to learn.

Is that the first goal the Nank has ever scored. Its a good omen. Reckon it the tiges night.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
