It’s their first year of senior footy. Get a grip.

Both coming from a long way back in terms of fitness.
Jefferson is 6kg soaking wet playing as a key forward.

Sestan and Jefferson not giving much to get excited about

Sestan has been ok in and under in the midfield and kicked a miracle goal. I’d hate to be any forward for Casey today, our kicking into 50 has been appalling. No chance. The one decent kick we’ve had in the second half Jeffo marked but shanked the kick on goal. I wouldn’t write them off based on today.

I've liked Howes game today.

He still couldn’t be sub or the carry over emergency if he played a full game for Casey. Can’t front up two hours later for an AFL match.

Agreed but Chookrat suggested that he flew up as sub. I merely clarified that he was at the venue regardless.

Gee this is the worst defending I’ve seen from a Casey team in many a year. Lost their DNA a bit this year from games I’ve seen.

A total lack of pressure. Smith under no pressure kicks 15m over the head of a leading forward. 1 GC against 4 Casey players. GC player naturally takes the mark. What is going on?

Goal to Melksham but the floodgates have opened and it’s too late - 112 to 84

Maybe not - Joel Smith gets his second.

What would you like me to grip?

Your head. If you’ve watched any Casey this year (evidently not) you’d know these two guys have shown more than most young kids do early. Guess you’re one of those blokes who like to make a criticism no matter what though, hey?!

And that’s after putting on nearly 12 kgs since last year.

The commentator just said his turnover inside 50 was his first mistake today. He’s had 17 touches and I’m almost certain 16 have been terrible.

Correct.

Those two clowns commentated to amuse themselves.

I think I heard a pearler from them, when one said, " I think the best way to get a clearance is to have the ball" and then another was " when kicking for goal it's best to kick accurately".

Getting back to White, I have never seen him play worse or kick worse. Hopefully it was just a bad day.

I thought our best were Laurie, Howes, Woey and Tomlinson.

How are TMac and BBB going?

a minor train wreck

Could have won if we kicked straight but the forward set up was dysfunctional. As usual too much forward pocket delivery. Attacking players not willing to cut back to the centre hot spot 35 out. Forwards rarely on the lead

Laurie and Spargo had decent games

Well, in reality both statements are true. Lol

And where does that game plan come from?

I suspect White may have had some 2nd game soreness/blues guys after a long layoff and clean out of that knee.

Maybe a bit of strength and match fitness / conditioning lacking.

Remembering that most players who come into a season off a knee or something that's held em back from a normal full pre-season usually don't perform at their usual standards in some or more games on their return.

We are witnessing a little of this imv with May at the moment.  Fingers crossed he's on the up and up though.

White might need to be managed (off the bench for alot less game time?) at some point depending on how he pulls up today.

Might be best not to judge him too harshly today given the above.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
