Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

I thought the Roos banner, something about 5 interstate games, was a bit defeatist. The players look at that, and feel tired, and have an excuse. They need motivational, emotional messages.

Spot on, Kev. The message should only ever be positive, regardless of the team’s current form. It wasn’t just the message though, the banner itself was awful. It was so small and tattered and very plain. We felt sorry for their banner crew. I guess not every club looks after their cheer squad like ours does. ❤️💙

At times last night, the  quietness of the crowd allowed me to hear all the noise the players make.

Loved the talking we do, mainly structural, calling for the ball, encouragement, from what I could make sense of.

I could hear it from the Q area of the Warne Stand.

The MCC has been opening the AFL Reserve Q area, to anyone, on those small crowd nights, so, was able to get a seat right in front of the wing area.

Gus always very vocal. At times I could hear him from level 4 in the MCC

For mine, the biggest negative about last night was the bazillion times I heard someone whinge about how “we should’ve beaten them by 100 points.” These are probs the same people who were going into it saying “I just hope we win.”

Who is he going to replace?

I really wanted to reply a 'smug satisfaction' emojj but we don't have one. I wonder what it would look like?

Also, more seriously, I think it is time for Spargo to be given a run for Casey with an emphasis on getting him more actively involved and seeing how that excellent brain of his adjusts to tighter traffic in the middle or even as a small defender. He needs to add proverbial strings to his proverbial bow.

Steven may wasn't happy we coughed up the last 3 either. I think it's a good thing some players were a bit annoyed by that. It shows just how good we want to be.

Angus Brayshaw's provided some very, very easy lip-reading as that siren goal sailed through, and it would definitely not make it through the Demonland censorship. The defenders all looking annoying and having a cranky chat right after was possibly the most exciting part of the game - it had the same tone as if they'd just let an easy one get through right at the start of an anticipated close game.

90 points adjusted after a five day turnaround is a 120 point win easily.

He also likes to fly from behind a little too often and the coach won't be happy with that ... thus, he very nearly got dragged last week.  Looks exciting to us but not a great percentage play

Weideman did the same nearly all the time and most forwards who ultimately don't make it usually have the same fault

But van Rooyen has enormous potential and he is learning on the job.  But he is far from the finished article

Running under the ball is just a rookie mistake and a timing issue.  And these days, playing as a key forward is infinitely harder than it was back in the day

My expectations aren't huge so he doesn't have to be a gun footballer anytime soon.  Just play his role and adhere to team rules

He's progressing well and will most likely stay in the team for the foreseeable future.  Schache is first out if Brown or T-Mac can regain form

Schache out for Petty or BBB if fit, never seen a player just simply moved aside so easily

That start was scintillating.

When Kozzie is up and going we become such a dangerous team. Banging goals from outside 50 is such a confidence booster.

Clarry dominated in that first quarter. Led the way.

Tracc: 30 and three.

Fritta is all class.

Maysie back in form.

Chandler played the perfect small forwards game.

Sparrow was very good.

Angus best game for the year.

Less impressed with Shack Attack and van Roo.

Also I wonder about the effectiveness of Hunter's dribble handballs! Had a good game though.

IMO Chandler is a better player than Spargo, his confidence when shooting for goal is amazing.

Steven May is a tough bastard with absolutely no sense of humour when across the white line. I wasn’t particularly bothered about the last few minutes but he was absolutely filthy with it and I loved it. He’s fast becoming one of my favourite Demons ever.

I was barracking for North at various times during the game. I like interesting, competitive footy. The North supporters, barely anything from them, resignation only.

They just couldn't get any rhythm and when they scored we replied, and held the momentum from them.

They did slow our scoring a few times but the dam kept breaking.

Yeah good call Kev, I noticed it too. Also noticed the difference between ours and North's.

Maybe, but we don't often bring in a player for just the one match (sometimes we do and have done)

And it was his first game for the club ... he looked a bit overawed to be honest

But if Petty is good to go and/or Brown or T-Mac put their hand up, he'll be lucky to stay in

Petty was playing that harder role reasonably well around the CHF area prior to his concussion

Thought Jordon had just an ok game with little impact offensively or defensively, even tho he played 83% game time.

Not sure last night helped his cause to stay in the 22.  Not saying he should be dropped.  Just not showing what many on here hoped he would.

When does JJ ever wow you with a game though. He is a solid workman linkman who takes defensive stoppage position. He rarely does anything flashy but also rarely has a clanger.  A 20+ possession game where he is rarely noticed is what I hope he brings most weeks.

I was at the game last night and I found the atmosphere very flat and almost eerily quiet for most of the match. I suppose that’s what happens when you nail 5 goals in the first few minutes against a team who is massive underdogs and everyone in the crowd thinks “ok this is going exactly to script”.

I’m genuinely surprised any North fans stayed after halftime. After being really poor the last two weeks, they were horrible in the opening qtr.

Yeah it was flat as a tack last night. Zero atmosphere but I only lasted the first half due to a cracking headache and 2 bored kids.

I have never left so early in fact stayed til final siren even in the Neeld era but I was struck by how many fans of both teams left at halftime, couldn't believe it actually.

What do these people take the players for? Idiots? And what about the rest of us? We aren't stupid and none of us would turn down a 100 point win but for god's sake.

It was garbage. The woman behind screamed it when they got it back to 96, "YOU JUST WENT UNDER 100 POINTS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD".

I did love the guy in front turning around to her and yelling "And?"

Noticed , he has put on more bulk, and can now stand up in tackles. Your right, good link player.

When they did get a goal, I was calling for another, and to fight as most North supporters had their head in their hands, after that 1st quarter and early second, blitz. Though they did get some opportunities early in the second, held it in there with multiple entries, but our backs absorbed that pressure well, and North were cooked.

Amazes me we have supporters whinging we didn’t win by more or “bored” by the game!

If you can’t enjoy a 90 point belting as a Melbourne supporter after what we went through from 2007-2013 I dunno what to say to you!

I definitely want a thrashing first but one thing is for sure, I'd rather be a guy barracking for North late in the game than one of the obnoxious poonces bemoaning the lack of a 100 point victory. My word it was embarrassing.

Class act by Goody to commence his post-match presser by wishing Comben and his family well. People in the second row heard the snap it was that nasty.
Great touch by Gawn and Lever also by going over to Comben when play was halted for a little tap on the shoulder.

I'd like it if this side of Good was talked about more than his 'lack of emotion' at pressers.

Very professional effort on a short break. Flashes of excellent ball movement and mostly the right tempo.

The most pleasing part was the unselfish work of our forwards. Fritsch and Pickett clearly got the message after some of their efforts last year and it’s great to see it spread through the side.

How about Brayshaw?

You've usually got lots to say about Gus

Even faint praise or a back-handed compliment will do DS haha

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
