Do we know how long Lever will be out for?

I reckon we are giving him a good rest before the ANZAC Eve game in 10 days time.

Lever won't miss that game.

Anyone rate the Davey boys? Might be dangerous in the wet.

An odd question🤔.

Unless Scott pulls some late changes neither are selected or emergencies...

Interesting forecast from BoM.  "Chance of Thunderstorm" could be significant or absolutley nothing and the "1 to 20 mm" is really hedging their bet.

I think with Gawn out of the side, we are ok height wise even if it does get wet.  I think we'll have either Laurie or JJ as the sub as a little protection if it does get real wet and a tall sturggles.

Oh sorry didn't see the teams just assumed they'd be in.

Guess they can't be a threat at all if they can't even make the team.

BOM. Is predicting 1-20mm of rain on Saturday and we want to go tall still. BBB would not be on that flight unless as coverage incase Tmac or JVR get injured. Petty back, wouldn’t play Thommo. Go smaller, Jordon should be playing.
I think if we go tall as selected this only helps Essendrug

The BOM forecast is actually not too bad for our game.

Rain and thunderstorms in the morning. A 'shower to (sic) two during the day, increasing in the evening with the chance of a thunderstorm'

'High Kozzie catching fire danger rating '

One of them is out for the year with a knee reco.  The other was omitted for this game.

In exciting news, we’re holding an open training session at 2:15pm on Saturday afternoon at North Adelaide football club, according to MFC media.

I make that 85 minutes before we play Essendon, assuming our media department are on point.

One day and 85 minutes. The training session is on Friday at 2:30 pm @ Nth Adelaide Oval.

I believe the reason is the cyclone that was off the coast of WA and is due to make its way down to SA. Whilst it won’t be a cyclone they can’t predict how much of a problem or will cause in the weather patterns. I heard someone banging on about it yesterday on the radio.

1- Bombers will rely on quicker ball movements into agile forward line.  Stringer, Langford and Jones move around and are not the standard big target forwards.  Stringer will run through mid and forward zones. Dees will want to see how May, Tomlinson and Petty work across this. It’s a shame Daniel Turner didn’t have a few more games under his belt and put his hand up this week.

2- Merrett Shiel Parish Caldwell. Dees should control more of the midfield and need to win the contested footy. This should be our advantage. Unleash JV again in BEAST mode.

3- Assume Draper and Phillips to physically go at Grundy to wear him down.  Tmcd could be used to support. This could be a weakness as exposed by the Lions.

4- our tall forwards JVR TMCD BBB would be taller but matched by Bombers defence. If we go slow, we will beat ourselves.  Where we might hold a key is through Pickett and Chandler. Assume Mcgrath might go to Pickett. If Kozzzzys on, he might be the match winner.

5- I hate the Scott brothers. Their arrogance is unbelievable and it’d be nice to get the win over Brad Scott.  Even when he was at the Kangas, he didn’t rate us.

Gee I'm surprised at all the hate towards Essendon. Is it leftovers from 2000? I'm saving all my anger for the next time we play eagles, crows and lions. Their supporters are atrocious.

I will NEVER forgive Essendon for their violence in the 2000 GF.

NEVER.

A least that was the last time they won one even if they were grubby and hopefully we stomp on their 2023 aspirations.

Yes.  Anger never subsides. Seeing Hardwick holding Brad Green's arms from behind whilst allowing the thug Wallis to punch Green in the throat. Disgraceful.  Together with Long’s dog act on Simmonds, two of the lowest acts seen in a GF.

I was being facetious.

The MFC website advertised open training on Saturday afternoon, despite the fact that we play on that same afternoon.

The comms department needs to proof read their news releases.

I’m surprised there are supporters of any club who don’t hate them.

The performance enhancing drug regime of 2012 was cheating at its worst. The fact that James Hird never took any responsibility for for the scheme, the fact that both supporters and the Essendon hierarchy at the time felt they were hard done by and the fact that there are 34 players and ex players wandering around today STILL not knowing what that Club put into their bodies is a disgrace.
I would have kicked them out of the competition

And yeah, for us, there is also the out and out thuggery of the 2000 GF

Funny you should say that.

Was literally just about to post that my hatred extends to Hardwick.

Proof reading is so 2010.

I don't hate them.  No point hating any club or its supporters because you'll suffer everytime they win

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
