Wow, if you just read the last few pages of this thread you would not assume we’re up by fifteen points at half time.

A lot of areas/individuals need to lift in this second half, lack of centre-clearance is a real concern, and Swans have a lot left to show us, but we’ve done a lot of things right so far.

Petty back, Trac forward, JJ into the middle.

Sparrow needs to lift, Viney needs to get smarter and defence needs to man the fridge up

Could we also win some clearances please 😡

Not sure I like Petty up forward. Feel like we are missing him up back especially with those goals to franklin and Logan. Can’t help but feel like he would have stopped at least one of those marks.

Leave him there it's just the way we brought it in that quarter, better if the just let JVRon the ground let him get into the flow of the game.

Now the half time ciggie wondering what team will come out for the rest of the match.

Viney is a liability in the midfield.  Just coughs it up way too easily.

A few more cleaner forward entries and quick reaction to the turnerover and we'll get the Swans.

great servant of the club but gone

They dominated thay quarter and barely outscored us. Our backline is doing fine. Umpires are ultimately dictating momentum atm. Wait until they put whistles away and see how the game swings. Then if necessary swing Petty back. Both teams could benefit from open forward lines.

Its nothing to do with that its the clearance battle and the cleaner ball theyre getting into forward 50 vs our spasmodic clearances and dirtty ball going in thereafter.

The day we can spread from a clearance then drive it forward finding a leading forward almost directly in front on occasions will be a refreshing change.

Chandler, Spargo & Tracc really need to get on their bikes big time in this second half.

JV's in pretty bad form so far.  Looks sluggish, trying to do too much and getting caught....alot.

P.S. Kozzy out is such a killer.

Good to be back and see us getting 30 points up and letting the opposition get a run-on.

A centre clearance or two would be nice as well.

We brought it back a lot that quarter. We are beating Sydney in stoppage clearances and contested ball which is a good sign

Currently 15-18 total clearance, which was better than it felt watching it!

I’m not sure I understand the “letting the opposition get a run-on” thing. Swans are a quality opponent, and this game was always going to be an arm wrestle.

Umm, they outscored us by 13 points. That’s way more than enough

We actually won the clearances in the 2nd but got smashed with our ball use.

Sparrow's the one for me in the middle that needs to get going.

Jv looks a little off, agreed.

Petty experiment, jury still out. Not enough pressure on Sydney forwards. Need him back.

Kozzy makes a huge diff.  Petty or Macca as far as pressure ...neither here nor there.

Petty needs a block of games to see if he can settle in.  Switching him back now is pointless as you're admitting defeat before you've given it a decent go.

Ok so if we're up by 15 plus with 3 minutes to go that's diff.  Then you might throw him (among others) behind the ball

No win        no finish top 4   simple

I cannot get access to the game today. It’s all F1 in BKK today.

What is up with the Centre Clearances ?

Have the opposition Coaches worked us out? This is a critical Halftime Break.
Our Mids have to counter punch this half

[censored] poor second quarter. Midfield needs to lift around the stoppages in the premiership quarter and they’ll beat us again. Cmon Dees let’s beat these buggers finally!

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
