Carlton may end up having a comfortable win over GWS but they appear to be a rung below the Collingwoods and Sydneyโ€™s of the top 8.

Our game against them in round 22 is an absolute non negotiable.

ย

What are the odds of us going 0-4 on the run home and Dogs OR St Kilda ย and Richmond going 4-0 on the run home?

Weโ€™ll miss finals if that happens.

If Dogs lose next week to Geelong weโ€™ll probably unofficially qualify regardless of ย us winning another game.

Come on Dubs, I just want everyone to fall down today and make it a little bearable.

Nothing surer than us going 0-6-1 in the โ€œhoping team X winsโ€

The sad reality is I want the druggos to win. I absolutely hate the filth.

It is seriously the biggest waste of time and energy.

GWS are in serious danger of long term irrelevance. If they lose another tier of younger players again this year I think HQ will be furious. 5 years ago it seemed inevitable, and now it seems impossible.

Well, you wouldnโ€™t expect the team sitting 14th to do soโ€ฆletโ€™s see how they fare in the remaining four rounds against actual contenders and teams vying for spots in the 8.ย

if The Filth continue to fix up Essend.... then our weekend will be a Dee-saster - they will need to win by 20 goals but still Im that negative after last night that Im in that frame of thought - negative.

Far out. ginnivan had his head almost taken off. No free kick. It was a free for sure

Lol that one was as high as you can get on Ginnivan

  • Anti-Saint changed the title to oh no The Filth might usurp us on ladder

They finish the H&A against us, Swans and Carlton. That run of games will give us a good idea of how they'll fare come finals

Ginnavin wont get a free kick for the rest of his career after that one

Weโ€™ve been waiting all year for them to fall over though.

This team has the defensive buy-in to make a grand final.

Just like our commitment to defence last year.

I say we go for Cox rather than Grundy when/if Jackson leaves.

Ugh the one game in the year I have to barrack for Essendon ๐Ÿคฎand they canโ€™t even make it worth the angst. Makes me hate them even more. If thatโ€™s even possible.ย

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didnโ€™t just beat Gold Coast โ€” they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharpย

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lionsโ€™ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Letโ€™s be honest, last weekโ€™s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper โ€” second versus seventeenth โ€” football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
