So apparently you can run OOB and just keep going as long as you're a doggy.  There's no boundary line

Brilliant play from Baker to Hunt to Gray there.  Taking a shot now

A very wet scrappy day.  You would think the Casey forwards would be playing mostly in front for the shanked kick ....hmmm

3QT: Casey Demons 7.9.51 to Footscray VFL 6.6.42.

The Demons have a 9 point lead at the last break but the skies have opened and it’s going to be hard to score in the final quarter.

Goals Chandler 3 Grey Laurie Moniz-Wakefield Valentine

Oskar Baker picking up a swag of kicks off half back. He has 23 touches.

Making too much sense to comprehend

Starting to over handball and play a bit cute.

Where's Dunstan?  Need some leadership for the young players.

We have a deep aversion to the corridor at all levels it would seem

I could be wrong in my assessment but I’ve found that the “Melbourne way” is boundary line style but looking for that release kick through the corridor. Hasn’t been the way for much of the year but it’s what we seemed to do well last season. Knowing and and being able to pull the trigger is so important to generating positive forward entries.

[censored] I hope that’s not the case tonight.

But we are a defence first team nowadays. Going via the boundary allows us to defend it more easily. Boring but that’s our set-up atm

When you're undefeated in a reserves competition where you are developing skills I think it's not too much to ask to see a Plan B every now and then.

Nice mark and goal by JVR

We are missing Mitch White, his big body and stabilising presence would help us on this kind of day.

Van-Royen to settle us, Goal.

Mark and set shot goal to JVR from 40m out!

Casey up 59 to 42 at 9 min mark of Q4.

I honestly don’t think we have a plan B

Ummm.

Haven’t lost a game. It appears Plan A is serving us quite well.

Big goal there from JVR.

It's a development league remember. Winning is nice but not that important

We have in the seniors though hbt. And its predictability is becoming seemingly easier to counter.

They play the same as the seniors. With one way to play so it is understandable and followed. Tactics change but not your plan of playing. There is no plan B.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
