Gee, Peter Wright knows now to kick a football. Bombers well back in this contest after a shaky start.

From nowhere the Bombers are back in this. Swans have gone to sleep

Lots more opposition coaches now coaching from interchange bench copying Goodwin and Fagan who were the only ones doing it last season. Today both Rutten and Longmuir coaching from the bench as was Beveridge the other day. Must be a trend to think it might be advantageous since Melbourne and Brisbane are top of the ladder.

essendon matching or beating swans on the stats

but getting nothing from merrett or stringer and little from parish......strange

Help if the swans could kick properly

Don’t know, a Swans loss could be handy to us.

True but I enjoy seeing Essendon lose because then there supporters aren't happy

Yeah that’s the bonus part. Win win

Essendon has become very reactive.

Essendon are showing why execution in play and finishing when you get your opportunities are so important.

The Swans have played all over them, but have sprayed their shots six ways from Sunday.

If Essendon had connected a few more kicks moving through the corridor, they’d be one or three goals up.

I'm barracking for Essendon, I have a hot shower with lots of soap after. Chance of only one game between 1st and 7th if results go the wrong way this weekend.

It would be embarrassing if Essendon beat Sydney and we couldn't

No it wouldn't. Swans have beaten themselves today because of inaccurate kicking

genuinely torn between the scum keeping the Swans further from us on the ladder, or for them to kick a goal at the death robbing the Bomber fans of acwin

Surely a bannable offence…………mods!

Folks. We all hate Essendon. That goes without saying

But we're not going to cut off our nose to spite our face. Better for us if the Swans lose.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
