Has anyone considered Blight?

Yes, I doubt he would come back to coaching, but I firmly believe he is an excellent coach and could develop our list very quickly into a premiership contender.

He was very good in the Toyota ad.

After his shafting of St Kilda you have got to be kidding

but you would have to admit StKilda is a very strange environment...clubwise. God himself would get sacked by them once some click-group got a bee in their bonnet !

I must say "condemned 84" that's a good signature, show what a great supporter you are. On a supporter forum????

Do you yell out that your kids are ugly in public???

quite funny how you are refering to my sig about getting rid of ND and how its bad etc etc

whilst in the post before it you say " i want mick mcguane"

now explain how you can have a go at me for having an opinion on the coach then go to a thread about who to replace him with and put up a name of a guy you would like to replace him with?

dont you find that a bit of a contradiction?

dont have kids to yell that out to yet

im not a supporter, im a member and one with an opinion and one who loves the fact that this country has something called fee speech unlike some communist country where you can not have an opinion, if you dont like that fact i suggest you either ignore, not read, care what i post or move to a country where you can only say what is deemed acceptable by all

Its not just coinsidance that freo actually started being a real threat after harvey arrived, the bloke has lead buy example on the field, knows how to win flags and generally knows what it really takes. Must be very due for a senior spot.

How would you or any supporter know what the impact of an assistant coach is whether it be at MFC, Freo or else? Shooting darts at board with a blind fold on.

Don Pyke or Guy McKenna, I like defenders as coaches, look at some of the successful coaches, Malthouse, Sheedy, Worsfold, Roos all defenders when they played and all have premierships as coaches.

Melbourne have a coach with almost ten years experience.

Sometimes I wonder just how important experience actually is.

Yes, we've wasted a few years, haven't we.

My wishlist would be on availability:-

L MATTHEWS

K SHEEDY

P ROOS

M BLIGHT

D PAGAN

C CONNOLLY

(Voss, Harvey, Ratten, Viney, B lovett, Ayers) They must have a thourough training in Physical football. (so they recruit the right types, & then teach them the physical game)

I would LOVE to see malcom blight coach us..2 premierships at the crows and if the saints stuck with him they would easily have 1 or 2 flags next to there name.

he would be really good for us! wat does everyone think of blighty?

My first instinct is to go for past players...

Top of list would be Viney, given he has coaching experience for a few years with Hawthorn's (lets face it, overachieving!) midfield.

Hmm... Jimmy Stynes, the media would love him - the accent alone would be worth a thousand memberships. Maybe as a youth/ruck coach, rather than top job. I imagine he'd want to carry on with his youth support activities, though.

Then Gary Lyon. Lots of people seem to find him very annoying. Minimal coaching experience, may not actually be interested, given he's raking in the dough and keeping his ego nice and safe commentating from the sidelines.

Connolly just about IS Daniher, as far as strengths and weaknesses go.

Be nice if Sting came back for some more fitness and prep work.

But really, the cupboard seems a little bare as far as past players go.

Maybe by next year, NEITZ!! :o

Hey, Roos went just about straight into coaching...

Brock McLean captain/coach 2008

Swooper Northey is still coaching....... :D

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
