I know Paddy get's up some people noses, but I for one think he deserves mad respect for this (as does everyone who puts out for others selflessly). So let's tease him for being part of Geelong's geriatric midfield, but let's also keep a tad of respect for someone who more than once has had the tall poppy treatment and at least to my eyes been a courageous and fair player.

I won't have the heart to bag him anymore even though he's such a FIGJAM. What he did at the weekend was hero level. Huge respect

Well done to the man, helping someone in need is sign of good character on his part. Happy to bag him for being a part of Dad's Army, and for being a bit of a sook/diver on the footy field, but it sounds like this girl and her family were in strife and he helped to prevent a tragedy. Well done Paddy 👏.

Possibly saved lives.

And possibly the most important thing he has ever done.

Doesn’t get much bigger.

And humble with it.

I grudgingly have to give him credit, and considerable credit, but I can’t help but recall –

The time when he, a member of the rules committee, put his hand up as the Ruckman and won a free kick in the forward pocket in an absolute sham.

The fact that he is a shocking diver.

The numerous times he has collected people’s heads with his elbow.

While I expect to be howled down for this, I really don’t understand the “hate” for Danger on here.

As a player, he has been, and possibly still is a champion, earning a Brownlow on the way.

As a person, he obviously has the respect of all players to be elected as their Player Rep.

And now, to top it off, he helps rescue a few struggling swimmers.

Yep, he is known to take the occasional dive, and sometimes a bit careless with his shoulders and elbows. I think a little less of him for those quirks, but I can’t and don’t hate him. And to be honest, apart from these quirks, I enjoy seeing his great skills on display.

If Danger had left the Crows and come to the Dees, instead of the Cats, it would be a very different attitude towards him, I’m sure.

Hates a strong word. Personally I don’t think I hate anyone, life’s too short to care about hating someone. He’s just a big ol’ Rooster.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
