Re your QB ticket question in the 'Fixture' thread.  Yes, the QB game is a replacement for the Alice game.  Yes you can walk up to the G and get in as a GA entry.

The club sent an email to members on Monday which said:

If you’d like to reserve your seat for a discounted price, you can enter your barcode into the box provided on Ticketek to upgrade. You can also purchase guest tickets and access up to 10 tickets in one transaction.

Round 12-15 ticket on sale details below.

Members - Tuesday 17th May 2:00pm

General Public - Wednesday 18th May 11:00am

YOUR BARCODE(S)

......................................

Alternatively, simply scan your membership card like you would at any home game and you will be granted general admission access subject to availability.

Thanks for the help!

I understand we can just rock up on the day to the G, however I am not so clear on the "scan membership".

Does it mean that I should see my GA tickets in my mobile membership?

Now that we no longer use the physical card we can't truly just scan and walk-in.

Yes, not sure what the email means by 'scan' the membership card.

The GA tickets for the QB game are already on the mobile membership.  There is no bardcode with them.  Not sure if GA membership tickets have barcodes on the mobile app.  Best to call the club to check the finer details

Strange question, but I’d love some help. I’ve got 2 memberships, but I’m taking 5 other people to the footy on Saturday and I’d love to buy reserve seats undercover for everyone because the age group ranges from 8 to 70. Any idea how I do this? When I look on the ticketek site the seats are all garbage. Will more become available?

Totally forgot about tickets for QB. Reserved 5 seats in AFL Members, level 4 at the front. Aisle seat as well. Seems only tickets left are Level 1 Open and Level 4 Front. Suspect they'll sell Level 4 back if more tickets reserved. Should be a bumper crowd.

Ticketek is showing seats available in ground level bays:  M53, M54, M4 and M12 in the Olynpic and Shane Warne stands.  (See diagram below).   The 'drip line for ground level bays in both stands is Row Y and the last row is NN so any seats between these rows should be fine, altho I suspect Rows Z to AA might get a bit wet.

I think the Melbourne Cheer Squad is in Bay M4.  @WalkingCivilWarmay confirm.

To find them go to https://hotshow4.ticketek.com.au/events/MELBO1122/venues/MCG/performances/EMMB0000022F/tickets.

and click on 'Find Public Tickets' and you will see this page.image.thumb.png.083f089907b7d23cd9066a7ee73d31d2.png

Then click on the bay you want, the available ones are coloured.

This takes you to the page to select the number of tickets in each category.  The system selects tickets for you and you will see this:

image.thumb.png.b6252d5f27883e6de1dd762a8de85b78.png

You can change the seats in that bay by selecting from the layout on the left of the page.  Note, I put in hypothetical ticket quantities to show how the system works.

Not sure how you upgrade the memberships though and get all the seats together.

Good luck!

We sit in Bay M3. First how ever many rows. But Dees supporters generally sit beside and behind the cheer squad with the odd oppo supporter who clearly doesn’t have an issue with being drowned out by our unending noise. 😁

Thanks for this info. I guess I’m some what confused as to why there will only be 35k max at the footy on Saturday and I can’t buy any tickets undercover. The AFL want me shell out $350 for these reserved tickets - but if I got GA tickets and gave them $150 I could just walk up and sit somewhere dry and not get wet. It seems ludicrous. I guess that’s what I’ll do.

Money raising by the Venues.

It looks it will be dry weather so it should work out ok.

By the way, your 2 club memberships give you GA entry at no cost so they don't need tickets.

If you haven't already bought the tickets check the mobile apps for the two memberships.  I have received some extra GA tickets in the app for this weeks game.

M5-M10, M29-M36 and M55-M57 will all be GA and you could just get there a little early and sit in the undercover seats, rows AA-Back

Does anyone know if a home game membership with reserved seat and gfg includes any free guest tickets (junior or otherwise)?

it seems to ring a bell, and if so, how does one go about getting them

(grand kids want bring along a friend)

GA tickets just turn up in my MFC Mobile App.  Listed as a separate item to my usual ticket.  Each ticket then has its own barcode.

Not sure if they are the same as guest tickets you are asking about.

It seems to be just when we play interstate teams and they don't expect much of a crowd.

all good. found my 2 guest passes on mfc app

A reminder to those who are reserving seats for Queens Birthday that the cheersquad will be at Punt road end in M3.

Can still reserve behind the goals in M4 and a couple tickets left in M2 and in M56/M57

Collingwood home game reserved tickets are considerably cheaper than at our home games.

My dad and I are trying to book tickets together on separate memberships at the reduced price, does anyone know how to do this? When I put my code in I can get my single allocated reduced ticket but I can only get the one, how do I get them both at the reduced $8 price?

Also anyone know if this is going to put us automatically into a Melbourne area?

Serlect adult club members X 2 from drop down menu.

Enter your membership barcodes into the box provided but one below the other, don't use commas etc. i.e. on  new line

If you haven't already, I'd recommend not reserving and instead going general admission for tomorrow. Looking at the seats available to be reserved, the best you can get is Q55 row AA (top level Olympic stand, 26th row back). A considerably better seat will be available in GA. Q1-Q6 are all available for walk up in the Shane Warne/Great Southern Stand. It's top level, but the whole of the bays are available so if you get there early enough (close to the 12:30 gates opening) you will be able to get a seat in the first few rows of the top level, which is a far closer view than the Q55 row AA option. There's no Melbourne area as such given it is an away game (apart from the Demon Army in M3), but at least if you go Q1-6 you'll be directly above the cheer squad, and there'll be far more Melbourne representation at the Punt Road end. The Pies own the City end (Ponsford stand).

Cheers for this advice, I’m coming straight from work so reserving a GA seat would be tricky. We’ve decided to go for the reserved seats, I like being on that wing near the MCC as well. Hopefully there won’t be too many insane pies fans around us! 😬

Haha yeah fair enough. That's the downside of GA, it requires a big time commitment to get the best seats in it. Hopefully not too bad up there!

Wanting to go to the Cats v Dees game on 7 July - so keen to see the Dees win down there with my own eyes, I tried in vain to buy a ticket on Ticketmaster. The site said none available. Ticketmaster really do make it difficult to purchase tickets...

I rang the MFC and they were super helpful. They gave me a link and a code word. The link took me straight where I needed to enter the codeword and boom - $63 later and I've got a ticket.

Can't wait.

its dreadful customer service again imo by the club.

I got the link coz i called them a week ago because i know there are two bays for us.

But the bays are still barely 20% sold because the club hasn't told anyone.

Ive received about 15 responses from people so far who didnt know how to get tickets.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.
