How do you know they are poor?

A few reasons:

  • You can go on ticketek and see what they are selling as reserved.
  • MCC is a huge tell for our games whether it will crack 70K and because to is Category 1 they only at row s level 4 on a few bays
  • Pax number on ticket Is the biggest give away.
  • AFL reserve also barely sold anything on level 4 and haven't sold out level 1

Is this visible on Ticketek sales to General Public section of website?  Or is it somewhere else?  It looks like a barcode is needed to see the 'Reserved' seating.

When I was looking for seats for Richmond game it had blocked out as N/A most of the ground except some Q sections in the SWS yet was automatically allocating tickets by Bay in the Ponsford stand.  Almost zero ability to choose where to sit...but I may be missing something.

I was allocated tickets on Level 1, Ponsford but it was really annoying to see later that they were allocating tickets to better located Bays which had previously locked.

This is my bugbear

For the Essendon game Level 4 AFL was closed

Like cattle in a feed lot..... Time to let us roam free !!!

The system is a joke and crowds will continue to disappoint until they revert back to the old system.

Part of why I have kept my MCC through the years is because of the ease of walk ins to games and arriving when I want. Especially if Im wanting to go with friends etc.

It is a complete joke and tonight I won't be surprised if they don't even crack 25,000.

Covid hesitancy is obviously a factor. But not as much of a factor as the post covid ticketing scenario.

A JOKE!

Apologies for autocorrect, now changed to ticketek.

Basically Richmond reserved seat bays are M50-M57 M1-3 M5-M6  M10-M15 and all level 2 and 2A in GSS and Olympic.

Unfortunately for this game they didn't allow you to select your own bay.

M7-M9 sold out in the general public on sale very fast, suspect a lot of melbourne home and away members will be sat there.

They put on m28-M36 in the Ponsford opening up each bay at a time and are currently at M35.

Those are the only Level 1 tickets available to non away game members, there will be a lot of us sitting there.

Looks about a 60K crowd to me, if both us and richmond win today it might top 70K.

There is walk up in MCC tonight.

25K will be a brilliant crowd all things considered.

Thanks for response.

It is difficult to get any clear info for our Away games.  For the Richmond game the club told me that I could access Ticketek's priority 'club members' booking if I had a Home and Away membership but there is no such membership available to Redlegs members; it is Home games only.  So I had to wait til GA opened.

Do you have more info that will help with future 'Away' games in Victoria?

Edit:  Just saw your last post.  Yep, was also hoping to get level 2A.  Will be filthy if they release those during this week.

I sit 2a in the afl reserve though. There will be no seats on 2a available in general public for this game coz it’s all reserved seats areas for Richmond members.

You have my vote JG. If you wanted to discourage attendance you could hardly do better than the current system.

Anyone else having problems forwarding their membership tickets from the App? The icon that I usually tap to do it won't allow me today for some reason and it tells me screen shots won't work. WTF?

might have something to do with sharing?

check sharing options for app maybe?

Yep same issue here - have tried multiple work arounds but nothing has fixed the issue. Have just screengrabbed my QR code and forwarded that on to the recipient.

Would like to correct this:  there is a H&A option for Redlegs which I will consider next year.

Still wouldn't mind all members have the right to buy tickets before the general public, naturally after those that have the 'Away' memberships.

Old Dee and JG share the gripes of many of us.

The ticketing system is deplorable in so many ways ; bar code reads and seating for example. This discourages me from trying to bring mates along to a game because I just can't face the challenge of finding a ticket. And then a seat. Why does the ticket cartel duopoly get service charges anyway on top of the ticket itself? If anything any of these shonky charges should go to the clubs who are putting on the entertainment. Of course spectators are staying away.

And for goodness sake can they just TURN DOWN THE EXCESSIVELY LOUD 'MUSIC'?!!!

Anyone have an idea how ticket sales are going for this game?

Not amazing, mainly because provisional members don’t have access in mcc. Looks like a 60k crowd. 70 would be a brilliant effort

will be very interesting to see how full (empty) the level 1 Richmond member reserved area seating is.

does it matter much to us?  it's our away game  takings go to the ferals.

Not hugely but it will add to the narrative of our poor crowds this year.

fwiw I think there will be at least 20K of us there.

Ticketing info for our Anzac Eve match. All level 1 seating at the ground is reserved. General admission patrons will be directed to level 4.
The Demon Army will be in M33, in the Ponsford Stand. Richmond has given us the whole M33 bay….at a cost. Our members have had their opportunity to secure seats and we still have a few available. We’re now opening up to any Melbourne members & supporters who’d like to sit on level 1. Use this link & when our tickets come through they’ll be forwarded.

Supposedly tickets were not available for members and GEn Public till after you posted your comment.

Actually  You don't buy a seat/ ticket  when you  go on to the app as a member or Gen Public.

The reasons  for the different tickets displayed is beachside the other areas have had sales already I would  assume.

You don't get any further info till after 72 hours before and agsin you can go to the GA area snd choose  your seats on first in best dressed base.

If you are reserved seat holder then your seat is protected in your area.

You buy a seat on your App ($0 if member or price if not and choose the area and await scan seat 72 hours before.
That's my experience snd YES MFC have a office betw Gates  3 and 4 for help.

They are all over it.

First of all you are incorrect regarding when I posted. Tickets in the AFL reserve and MCC went on sale well before I posted and the sales in the MCC are still not good. They still haven't sold out level 1 in the AFL and level 4 will be 80% empty. MCC still haven't opened up half the bays on level 4.

Tickets for away members and Richmond members went on sale before I posted as well. There were 5 bays that sold out in that process, M7-M9 and M28-M29.

You seem to think this is our home game, it is not. Yes there will be a very small proportion of our members who have away GA access who will receive GA tickets on the app 3 days before. But that is a very small amount of people.

So your point on reserved seat holders is rubbish because it is not our home game.

I know exactly how the process works for ticketing so get off your high horse and stop trying to explain it to me.

This will be another disappointing road because of Covid, ticketing process and Richmond fans not turning up.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
