Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We’ll see if Melksham gets moved on but otherwise if McDonald or Fritsch got injured wouldn’t we’d prefer Melk or going small with Harmes and Petracca forward more.

If Jackson or Ben Brown get injured we’d go Weid.

Down back Tomlinson should be right by mid year. Hore might be a defensive option. Turner looked not a mile off a 3rd tall role.

And if he stays on the list Declase could pinch hit at half forward or half back.

Daw as a forward/ruck or in a total emergency could go back too.

All up it just doesn’t seem to make sense to carry a 5th choice key forward and 5th choice possible key back. One who’s probably too injury prone to last a series of games as well.

We now have what we once lacked, solid depth with Hunt, Weid, Bedford, Baker, Chandler, Laurie, Rosman, Turner, De Classe, Daw & Brown we can cover all area’s on the ground for our next crack at the Granny.

Just names on a list there. The only proven AFL player on that list is Hunt.

Laurie has promise and based on VFL form Weid, Chandler and Daw aren’t far off it.

But there’s a reason we used the same 23 players for most the year.

We’ll need improvement in some of those guys next year to get to the 30+ it usually takes to get through a season.

Weid and Brown signing on, assume we've moved on from Jack Gunston?

Hope so. Stuffed back as far as I know.

This was your opinion on this topic at this time last year too. I was looking forward to seeing how you would react this time (quite measured really).

I'm not going to disagree with you. I thought he would be nearly the first one out the door. With Tmac and Brown being injury prone, it's not the worst option to keep him on. No way would we want to roll the dice on Declease when defending our title.

If 2 of our key forwards Brown, Tmac or Weid go down then he will be needed. Leave Jacko playing his current role.

If one of Petty, May or Lever got injured next year could he play as a defender?

I cant think of any other back up options outside of Tomlinson.

Disco Turner and Declase got picked up for that very reason didn't they? I hear good things about Disco but let's face it... if 2 of those players go down we are going to struggle to replace them.

I’m a bit less upset now we’ve won a flag. I wonder if he’s a de facto forward coach or glue guy.

I just think he played 1 game this year in a year when Brown and Weid started the year broken down, McDonald was a maybe at best and Petty hadn’t proven himself.

I know we need ready made depth I just think he’s far enough down the list to get the same performance from players with upside. And whilst we won’t be Geelong any time soon it all seems a bit Geelong keeping Josh Jenkinsy
