Can someone please explain to leave it to deever that he can press the mute button and that he is not being forced to listen to the commentators.

Toby should be safe.

Commentators so keen to condemn him they failed to notice that Danger started to squat to tackle but his left leg slides out from under him.  Had he not slid the elbow/arm would have got Danger in the chest.

Also Fritsch got off on something similar (the forearm).  The Tribunal set a precedent in the recent Buddy case of accepting similar incidents as evidence so they will have to accept the Fritsch decision.

I felt that for the action Fritta was very lucky, but given recent results with the tribunal he should be fine. A lot more split second than Buddy who shifted the ball to the other arm in order to elbow the tackler.

Consistency says that he shouldn’t get suspended.

In play + reasonable to try fend off + Danger slipped =  No case to answer.

As comparison:  Hawkins had no case to answer with his (well disguised) elbow to the head of May.  I can't remember the rating but probably, careless, high (head), high impact as May was hospitalised and missed a week.  Toby assessment should be the same.

Go Giants!!

So surely that says he will.

PS Selwood just chose to bump Taylor head high - but I guess the Selwood rule will apply and he will be fine (or at worst fined).

As I recall Hawkins wasn't even cited - the media didn't go all over it so Christian didn't even have to have a look.

Can someone work out if Geeling lose tonight what does that mean in terms of how many wins we need to secure top 4?

Man, BT’s not even attempting to hide his disappointment when the Giants goal.

Maggots doing their best - Guthrie clearly rode him in the back - "free kick Geelong".

Don't even think of it - win the bloody lot.

For a much lauded defence, Geelong have conceded a lot of goals out the back tonight.

The same amount as before the game started. It affects the chances of making top 2.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
