You're too caught up in the stats movement. The turnovers killed us. Time and time again.

You're too caught up in the Lemmings movement! Perhaps you're even leading!

The only reason they drew was that he was getting clear hit outs and everything went to Mitchell, Worpel & O'Meara.

Also, can't stand the smiling and lack of intensity.  The Captain sets the level of intensity and fanaticism  Never see Joel Selwood smiling!

There is something to be said here.  Also that brain snap decision to kick to the space that Spargo had lead to 4 seconds prior which he initially ignored .... with only a Hawk then present taking the resulting pass to Spargo's shadow!??

His tapping appears to be just that.....a tap anywhere.  And his only other option at this point is to bash it forward where the opp often has a defensive sweeper who often then gets first use and/or runs off with it on the counter.

Time to get down & dirty and play smarter footy big boy!

I don't know who is a less convincing kick for goal, Jackson or Oliver.

Will cost us finals, our sh*tty kicking.

Clarry by a country mile (set shots).  Clarry, Spargo and Kozzie should almost always look to dish the ball off to anyone if they aren't 30 meters out or less.  I would even get them to go backwards if needed they are that bad.

Also set routines for kicking for goal, players should stop tossing the ball around as they walk in - just hold the damn thing steady and concentrate on kicking straight. So annoying professional footballers who can't kick straight

gawn just did not seem to be on the same page as his midfield, a few of times he hit it to the side with 2-3 hawks while melbourne players were on the other side. Do they actually discuss where each midfielder should go each time or is it just hit and miss.  he at least tried his heart out.

When their midfielders got the ball we just did not seem to put them under enough pressure. we may go at the man with the ball but leave other unmarked to receive and run with it.

Viney tries to do to much, tries to bullock his way through but gets caught too often. Brayshaw does seem to have a problem kicking, a few games this years he has kicked the ball out of bounds multiple times when not under pressure. maybe they need to check out his technique. quite frankly brayshaw shooting for goal does worry me.

we have some of the best forwards in the business then why are they not leading out in different directions instead of staying in one pack making it easier for opposition to corral them. Too often all of our forwards fly and leave the opposition to clean up without too much pressure. our small forwards needs to exert more pressure when the ball goes to ground. and preferably kick straight for a change.

In conjunction with many other problems lining up a goal - including the frequency of what is appearing as a preference for those speccy 'around the corner' set shots - we must concentrate on leading out to alternative angles and spaces, forcing a clearance of the hot zone (and development more kicking skills across a 45 metre distance / range), plus more midfield /half forward shots and accuracies 'on the run'. We do not 'set' the ball, we fiddle with it; we over-value static forwards, falsely thinking they are our strengths; our smalls have talents yet are easily dispossessed and/or knocked off an intended line; we have too many forward passengers who should really be working hard and smart to create alternative opportunities in seconds.

We must have an enormous insufficiency in our training methods and forward-line creativity for such basic errors to be so prolific.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
