At half time I can understand those comments. It was disappointing.……

Interestingly for the first time in memory I felt quietly confident at half time that these guys would turn it around ….. was expecting a scrape across the line victory though, not the amazing turnaround we saw.

If you feel that way, why did you support the statement, "Sit down"?

That is someone saying your views aren't welcome.

I think you might take a deep breath and read the thread again from the start and see the context of @rpfc posts.

Hidden behind your humour is some truth you wish to impart.

You don't what my kind on board.

I've been told to "sit down", to be blocked, that I must be new (no right to express my view).

Why are my views so unpalatable?

Supported by another, @Left Foot Snap.

I can understand boring, but not welcome!

You poor, insular, delicates.

Settle down Kev! Not having a dig at you at all! You are right it was self deprecating humour suggesting that any club who would have me is not worth belonging to. Sorry if u didnt get that. Just a humourous narrative thats all. I personally welcome all comments on Demonland whether they align to mine or not. It gives the forum brevity, thinking material and pionts of difference. I like it?

Opinions are like farts, everyone else's stinks, they are hard to hold in and when you let one go, at least one person will leave the room.

I wouldn’t advise that. I read the post to which you refer and it only reinforces what’s happening here. rpfc said he’s the one who tells newbies to sit down. I love rpfc’s posts (didn’t know he was a mod until now) but I’ve left other fan forums (for bands etc.) because of the way mods or long-termers regard “newbies” with a lack of respect. Call me old-fashioned but telling a man to sit down, in the implied context, is emasculating.
Anyways, that’s my two bob’s worth.

Huh.

well I’m not a mod, and you an Kev are welcome to take the jest in which I have posted in this thread as straight if you wish.

(although I thought the gifs give it away)

I just don’t think you’re right and I still don’t think the response to deefiant was warranted - which is ironically what started this nonsense.

We done yet?

Your out are you, or taking your own advice and sitting down.

He wasn't calling you a troll, I think he was referring to deefiant.

Geeze, "literati", that's a laugh in itself.

Mate, stop ostracising. Your closed group is not what you imagine.

Anyone can join and your constant put downs cannot change that.

You know me because you had the same run in with 007 and who.

Could be about your superiority complex and the need to close the open door so you feel safe from opinions you don't agree with.

Who is we? Is that the inner circle, group think people.

You are a good poster Kev. I read all your content.

People are free to tell you to sit down and you are free to tell them to get stuffed, which you have done.

I have a simple rule. Don’t take things personally. End of the day we’re all just a bunch of randoms talking chit about our team and inflicting half baked opinions on the world. Let's get back to talking nonsense about the footy.

Great advice for us all Better Thanks for that.

I guess I’d best just sit down then.

Wow, you are over analysing everything. Not everyone has a vendetta against you.

Feel free to post your opinion, but people have a right to disagree.

From your posts, i have seen more atracks on people's character than posts. I chose to not respond to your attacks on my character, as is my right.

What I'd be saying at Junction oval would be how the hell did we do anything with that kind of weights room!

Yes, no doubt my personal bias and pain points are on show in this thread in my response to a poster who passionately defends the rights of others to irrationally and prematurely slag off the club, even when we're 9-1, with an inconsistently applied free speech argument.

This has obvs touched a nerve with a few posters, for differing  reasons. I guess that’s one of the foibles of being human. But it’s also one of the benefits. It shows we are nothing if not passionate. ?

Thanks for noticing Kev, but really, I just love that Groucho Marx quote PF used. Feel free to say whatever you like around me.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
