You can blame Morrison for item 1, not the public service. Everything else follows from that as does his abrogation of quarantine.

No, he should go to the back of the queue for an alternatve vaccine.

Polly that is exactly what I said in another post. I would give up my position in the queue and wait for the vaccine of my choice. This does not affect any herd immunity nor does it slow down the rollout. It is my choice.

A week’s a long time in footy. This time last week a bunch of us on here were having a good old-fashioned whinge about the loud music playing at the ground pre-match. Now the harsh reality of not being able to be there tomorrow night has sunk in. And quite frankly I’d happily sit through an entire Justin Bieber album at 150 decibels if it meant being able to watch our boys run out tomorrow night. ?

They put the restrictions on and now Hunt is telling lies and still nursing homes remain un vacccinated

Will they be dusting off the old “crowd noise” button for this one?

Why would they not be allowed into the state? If other states are Covid free there is really no issue with them returning. Besides they will be told to stay in a bubble and test. AFL clubs are really easy to control. It’s the community that’s the problem.

so.. where do we want to play Brisbane next week

NT is almost certainly off and I suspect that Qld won't allow Brisbane to come to Melbourne

So that leaves Sydney (SCG or Giant ) and as an outsider Manuka oval in the ACT.

The other possibility is that if cases over the next few days are low AFL may go for an all team (or close to it) bye in the hope that things will be easier the following week

Surely if our cases remain low, Brisbane can get an exemption from the QLD government.

Charter flight to Melbourne Friday AM. Straight to hotel/training. Straight to MCG (likely no crowds). Fly directly home after the game on a charter flight. Where is the risk in that?

The way things have been managed so far, don't be surprised if they're taken to a quarantine hotel. No risk there.

Oh no don't worry, when it comes to the money making machine that is the AFL, everything will run like a smooth military operation. Just like hubs did last year.

It's only when the lives of everyday people is at risk, that nobody gives a flying f

I think there is next to zero chance of a bye. They will move heaven and earth to keep games going. If it goes pear shape in Vic start looking forward to games coming from QLD again. To be honest if I cannot go to a game in Melbourne then I don't care where they are played.

So 44 blokes can tackle, sweat and spit on each other tonight in Melbourne while only 10 people are allowed to attend a funeral for an 8 year old boy in Warrnanbool.

Sad state of affairs. Entirely over the hub discussion. My brick will go through the television tomorrow if Gerard had his hot take on it again.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom
