If Fritsch and Melk are both down, they are liabilities. Fritsch will want to pull his finger out

Our best forward and highest goal kicker who had one quiet game last week ? I think he’d have to have quite a few crap games to be dropped.

The mail I have is Trac will not play tomorrow.

I can’t see this being right as not enough player have been held over.

Kossie to get more midfield time with Chandler in I wonder?

Is Chandler in a sign of Tracs uncertainty?

So Fritsch is currently our 5th most important forward and 3rd option going forward. He needs to be present defensively because he is non existent at times and was an anomaly in the space time continuum for 3 hours last Saturday night.

Fritsch was more than quiet he was a liability

He’s got real competition now so he’ll have to perform every week, just like everyone else.

Melksham has been in the gun for me for the best part of 2 years now but he still contributed something last week. Fritsch has to contribute to stay in as we should have a lot more avenues to goal now.

I think Chandler is in for his pressure and chasing that weed and brown barely bring

Nasher is going to have to break the news to Goody that he's just a standard Demonland group think Melksham hater...

I’m yet to see Goody post the unjustified, one eyed garbage that I see posted on here. Have you got a link?

Melksham getting dropped doesn’t make me wrong about the groupthinking Melksham haters. I stand by it.

FWIW I didn’t think Melksham would be dropped, but I don’t object. I actually said weeks ago (when everyone was laying in to me about daring to suggest Spargo should try and get the ball more) that Melksham was the most likely in the gun.

Excited for Chandler after 3 games as the unused medical sub. Can’t wait to see how he goes.

I hope the kid can get a few weeks to settle. But we will see when Viney has to fit back in and what they want to do with the Weed.

Melksham was down and like Fritsch - if he can’t find the footy and affect the game - he has to impact defensively and he hasn’t been. I don’t have this hatred toward him tho that some supporters hold.

My grudge if you want to call it that stems from the [censored] off Melksham gave Melbourne supporters in Sydney last year.

Selection wise though this is the most sensible decision.

It gives us three talls in Brown, Weideman and Tom. Tom's tackling has been better this year, but I don't expect much at ground level from these three. So they need to be complimented by a host of smalls who are now Kozzie, Spargo, ANB Chandler with Harmes, Jordon and Petracca rotating through there to add additional forward pressure. Good selection.

Did Melksham or Baker play for Casey?

Indeed Bay Riffin.   And anyone with a modicum of understanding of the game would appreciate that Fritsch was likely concussed in the off the ball hit by Bonar the week before in Hobart and hence was always likely to be quiet last week.....

Lol.

FMD - it’s amazing the lengths some fans will go to give a bloke an excuse for a horrible game.

If we was concussed - he shouldn’t have played. For himself and the team. He suited up and is fair game.

you don't know whether he was concussed or not and even if he was it didn't affect him too much for the rest of that game.

He had an off game last week. It happens. I mean Rampe is no slouch when it comes to defending. He'll be better today i'm sure

Go back and have a look at Fritsch in the contests immediately after the off the ball hit.   It is clear that he's NQR.   The pattern of players having a quiet week after a significant hit in the AFL is sufficiently well established to be indisputable.   It doesn't stop clubs selecting them however in the hope they can play to their capability.   I've no doubt he'll be good today.

I would be very surprised if we played Fritsch knowing he was concussed the week before. Times have changed. Concussion and head knocks are taken very seriously.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. However I, like you, expect Fritsch to be much better today.

Oliver continues to engage in grappling tactics at centre bounces. It’s infuriating. Just hunt the ball. Also gets pushed to the wrong side of the contest. Said it earlier this week in the thread on centre clearances

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
