we have one.  hells bells.

 I'm rolling thunder, pouring rain
I'm coming on like a hurricane
My lightning's flashing across the sky
You're only young, but you're gonna die
I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get ya, Satan get ya

Hi there Sharkie. Again though it caters for a particular demographic that likes heavy metal.

I didn’t know those bells were from a song until a mate pointed it out to me. When I hear them I’m expecting the cry of “bring out you’re dead ! ” to follow.

I just love the menace in the words, the thumping riffs, the base and drums.  Turn it up as loud as possible.  Run through brick wall stuff.

I get a similar feeling  when I hear Bullet The Blue Sky off The Joshua Tree album live. Without the running through a brick wall bit though !

I’m an Arsenal fan and won’t be singing you’ll never walk alone as it’s Liverpool’s song

We’ve already got one that I sing at the end of the game (never at the start, it’s an omen)

I also find it strange but am struggling with the metaphor ( although a great clip) !

Not the reaction from Demonland that I had hoped for .

A bugler is on my to do list . Contacted the cheer squad as they had one but crickets . Hard to smuggle into the G as you need approval from the AFL . I also need their approval to print 1000's of pamphlets to promote the charities QR codes and web addresses . If I sought approval for the Apollo Mission I would need the ok from the AFL , MFC , Cheer Squad , Demonland and wife ( no one likes others meddling in their business ) and it would never get done . Like commissioning a new song .

We need to keep finding outside ideas to help our team . Think Burgess , Williams and Yze . The song is the best pre game song . People come from around the world to hear it sung at Anfield and will do the same at the G . The Dees deserve the best !

Cant get passed status for replying to messages . Tech dinosaur .

It is not Liverpool's song ! That is like saying I Dreamed a Dream is Susan Boyles song .

We need an Aussie song and it's funny because I have been toying with this very thing.

Parkway Drive is an Aussie band and we could get them to do a special production for us.

Song is called Dedicated and you just need to adjust a couple words in the song.

For years I've fought for this
For years, our heart still beats
For the ones who've stood beside us
Still strong, you can't break us

You should know by now
Here comes whats next Through blood, sweat, tears
We're still here

Unbreakable!!!

And yes it's very heavy so there maybe a few horrified.

Ahh but it's all in fun.

Hi everyone, what did I miss?

David Birdie should be commissioned to provide our unique anthem.

He has an uncanny ability to produce deeply emotional and evocative music to match lyrics.

Agreed

This whole idea is ludicrous

Norm’s Curse can only be lifted in Late September/October

Sit down Craig

I am a passionate supporter . My wife comes from a good Dee family . Gawny was amazed that my older daughter went to what games at Etihad . Jim Stynes was amazed that my younger daughter had been a member for 9 years when she was 8 . Ron Barassi calls me the other Hutchy .

I would really appreciate a sensible discussion as , at the moment , I am thinking I might have to go up to Level 4 to minimize embarrassment . I did go up the back once 39 years ago to have a joint ( can I say that ? ) .

Happy to rank the suggested songs and have a vote .

I’m an Everton supporter last thing I want to do is sing a Liverpool song - not to mention that it’s too main stream and too over done. (NEXT)

It is ludicrous to mention the curse . As I have said it was a fun way to get attention not discussion .

Stand up Sir and leave the discussion if you find it a waste of your time .

I don't like the idea of recycling someone else's identity. Oldest professional football club in the world, let's not borrow songs from another club.

It's a great pre game song, really gets the blood racing.

I’m at a bar called Nice Guys in Victoria St, Richmond and literally any song on the mix tape they have on  atm could be our anthem. Lots of Stranglers, Madness, The Jam, The Clash, New Order etc. Anyway....back to the pre-game drinks in the sun. See you all at the G later ?

Looking forward to hearing your suggestion for song NEXT . Do you think it important we have one ?

As I said above saying YNWA is a Liverpool song is like saying I Dreamed A Dream is Susan Boyles song .

Many original ideas are very popular today Sir . Think about Never Tear Us Apart . That was not an " original idea " .

YNWA is not a rivals song YET .

Now for some positive reinforcement

Positive - well done I like the idea of a song

Negative - crap song choice

Positive - um well done I like the idea of a song

oops - used the same positive twice - my bad

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
