Watching on Kayo.  What is the point !

its 10 minutes behind. Better to listen to the ABC and watc a replay. Absolutely rubbish.  At least last year with Telstra it was only 30 seconds behind

IT's all the same. Fox and Seven. Just [censored].

Good win by Port in a frenzied final quarter. Great to see Tigers lose again. Sick of them!

Still a good hard game.

tigers abut unlucky perhaps but port played well

Can't decide who helped get Port over the line more....Broad or the Umps.  Actually probably Broad

Watching 7 After phil the Greek died

Dursma did a knee and they were going on about a head injury.

Sure he hit his head but he was lying on the ground holding his knee...

Good game to watch. Port played like it was a GF, they have multiple injuries and many sore boys.  Durrsma ACL? hopefully not

[censored] Jack for missing that goal. I put Dees and Toiges in a double.

Bitters your here? Thought you would be in mourning after the news of one of your brethren.

That's the best game so far this year in terms of finals like pressure

Not sure we're quite up to that level just yet ... pace was furious and even the best players had no time to release the ball

End to end, frantic ball movement and about the right amount of goals

Neither team deserved to lose and if Costagna had have been able to get a foot to the ball then the Tiges probably win

Great match!

Are we watching the same game? Yes there are errors but look at the frenetic pace and intensity of the game.

Yeah, completely agree. I don't think we're anywhere near the standard of those two teams. High intensity and some good team defence on show from both teams.

It'd be interesting to see how we'd handle the tempo of a game like that. I think our midfield is equal to both teams, but the cleanness of the defences and the ability for both sides to get those ground balls off contested situations was very impressive. It looked like we were watching two of the top 4 teams this year IMO. I can't see us breaking into a top 4 consisting of Port, Richmond, Eagles and Bulldogs.

I mostly agree mate, although Port should have won by 3 or 4 goals had they kicked straight.

Agree with your summation AF but we can finish as high as 4th if the cards fall our way ... the inequities of the draw with regards to the double-ups etc etc

15 wins might snag 4th spot but can we win 15 games?  We'll need to not drop games we should win but more importantly, we'll need to split 50/50 or 40/60 against the better teams

For instance, we're good enough to beat the Cats & Hawks so we need to get it done.  5 & 0 after 5 rounds and then the playing group can gain real confidence (yeah I know, one week at a time etc etc but we're just onlookers!)

But tonight's game was on another level ... I totally understand those who highlighted the errors made (and there were many) but the pressure and pace was through the roof.

Not gonna lie, the idea of beating Geelong on Sunday and finishing two games ahead of the Tigers is very sexually arousing.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
