He had a very nice game with 3 goals as a midfield.

Why did we get rid of him? Salary cap or opportunity for Dom?

with oliver, jones, brayshaw, harmes, plus trac wanting midfield time, there was clearly no place for him anymore

has had a rotten run with injury at north, hopefully he's back to his best for them...except against us

With North having no backline, it wasn't surprising Hawthorn were able to kick as much, even from kids who are yet to play a senior game.

North just horrible all around the ground, but the Hawks not much better.  Unforced turnovers from both sides all day long.  Neither will be outside bottom 4.

I’m less bullish on Geelong after last night. Will still get enough freebies at pork barrel park to make finals , but I think the new rules might catch out their slow ball movement game style. They looked slow last night.

they are in front at half time, says a lot for the Geelong superstar team. I do agree Essendon look a bit crappy though.

Without Mitch Duncan the Cats have no defensive run through their midfield at all. They struggled in the ruck big time - Essendon got a lot of forward fifty entries, but were extremely wasteful.   Can't take too much out of pre-season game though.

Hard to tell how serious Cats took last night’s game, but hoping the loss of Harry Taylor will expose a few  holes in their backline. Number of Essendon marks in forward 50 that wouldn’t have happened in the past.

Dom went to North for more opportunities as we had enough inside mids

We got Brayden Pruess in return

Brayden went to GWS for pick 31

Pick 31 ended up as pick 34 on the night that nabbed us Fraser Rosman

So trading Dom Tyson eventually got us Fraser Rosman

(I think this is all correct)

Rory Lobb has gone down in the 1st quarter. Nasty looking knee injury so quite possible out of round 1. Hopefully not too serious and he's right for round 2 but certainly not sorry if he doesn't face us.

dr gerard healy initially speculated it could be a medial, but then changed it to potentially cartilage damage

i think it's fair to say he won't be fit for round 1 and potentially quite a bit longer than that

he's had a rotten run with injury

meek is the best ruck they've got, dont be fooled by the sean darcy is the second coming of sandilands nonsense. and treacy has done bits since getting rookied and is more than capable to replace his work i50. lobb has been lying to himself his whole career pretending he's not a ruckman. he's very ordinary as a forward hardly ever kicks proper bags and definitely doesn't tally big goals/season

Maybe, but if i have a choice i'd prefer he didn't rather than did play.

I get it now. Just seen a Goody snippet on the AFL website. I think it needs a few weeks to bed in properly so too early to judge.

Because he peaked in 2014 and hasn’t played anywhere near that level since.

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
