Just tired to redeem the Telstra $5 Kayo deal and can’t get it to work. I get stuck in a loop during registration every time. Tried on multiple devices, private browsing windows etc and no success. I can’t even give these [censored] my [censored] money to watch. No support number to call either, just send feedback and hope for the best. These companies who own the broadcast rights are [censored] pathetic.

The whole direction of the game being manipulated to suit broadcasting and not being able to watch the [censored] broadcast is mind blowing poor.

If anyone has had a similar problem and had it solved, then please help a tragic demon out!

Are you doing it thru your Telstra rewards account? It worked for us when we tried it that way rather than redeeming an email link.

Yep tried going through Telstra account and via link in AFL app. Keep getting stuck at the last hurdle, then it loops through to and discount disappears and it asks you to confirm $25 a month. Happens on both phone and computer. It’s something to do with being an existing user, and I can’t even use a different email as it asks for your mobile during registration and then says phone number in use already ?

Thanks anyway!

That’s really weird. We are existing Telstra customers and we never had an issue. Maybe call them. That will be fun. Good luck!

Question re Kayo...how long after the match finishes do they put it up to stream? I’m watching today but won’t always get to watch it live, if it takes a day or so I’ll switch back to Foxtel. TIA, ET out.

it stays there for months.

The diff is that after a day or so it goes into replay mode which is lower quality video than the 1080 of match day

yes.. just select the play from start option (if the live/from start options are given) and you're away

the replays have the pregame comments cut out of them also

You can technically start from the start at any point. So if your out and about and come home at half time you can start it from the start rather than live rather than waiting for the match to finish. But as soon as the match is over you can watch the entire replay.

Currently battling with bloody Telstra “on line chat”

It appears that I am eligible fora $5 per month but cannot get them to answer what I get for this?

Is the open access $15 per month a better deal? Does that include golf?

no difference in the deal whatsoever so go for your $5 deal

Not a golf fan but as I understand it Kayo carries all the major golf tournaments plus a few levels below but it does not carry the "golf channel."

Same situation for tennis where the specialist tennis channle is not carried.

Just chucking this in here in case anyone else runs into weird issues trying to redeem the $5 Kayo deal you get this year through Telstra.

No matter if I went through Telstra account of AFL app link to Kayo, I couldn’t get it to work and kept getting generic error about account creation/link.

Went through Telstra support and nothing wrong on their end. Went through Kayo support and after a week of no solution they discovered my mobile number was attached to an account that was never activated. Kayo accounts use a platform called SteamMotion which uses your mobile number to verify, so they can stop people redeeming multiple free trials. Somehow my phone number got attached to an account with an email address and details completely unrelated to me?! They removed it from their end and I was able to then able to create the account fine.

Hopefully this post helps someone else if they run into similar issues!

Had to empty the cache which lost all the log ins which required reactivation etc etc... missed a quarter.. first world problems

I also cheat OD in that I watch a program on another streaming product and skip in and out of kayo using the fast forward button.

Must say I have been doing less ff during games than last year.Hell some of them were boring

I could be wrong but I believe you need to register via a Telstra mobile device and have wifi disabled so that it validates you are on a Telstra cellular service. This worked for me and I'm on a Boost subscription, which uses Telstra network.

$5 per month for Kayo is unbelievable value for Melbourne Football Club digital subscription.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
