Just thought i would start this conversation, are there any hints as to how the tickets for the season will be allocated. I have a Redlegs membership and that comes with selected seats (not that I often sit in my correct seat). However if there is a 50% Capacity allowed, How do they decide who gets in?

Not sure how it will work but I’m confident we wont have 50k at games ?

Maybe not, but there a few hardy souls that cram into the Premium member area in the southern stand, can't have 10k in one section and nobody in the other half of the ground

I gave up my Redlegs membership a few years ago for a different membership, out of frustration that someone else would almost always be sitting in my reserved seat - now I know who the culprit was!
Not sure how the seat allocations might go if there’s a larger crowd expected, but I assume premium members would be given priority. Beyond that, perhaps some sort of ballot.

will be amazed if it's more than 25k

Really. I haven't seen a game live in 18 months, wild horses couldn't keep me away, I'm sure there will be plenty of others who feel the same

i mean the allowed capacity not how many will rock up :)

You might be right, 53 days is way off and aaaanything could happen. But would be good to know the method of allocating seats, even if it is 25k would still like not to miss out

That's me I've had the same seats in the Olympic stand For years day there when they used to be red seats and the cheerssquad was there. Hopefully can sit there but, i guess I'll be happy just to be there

FWIW channel 7 reported last week that clubs are assuming and hoping it's 50%. They interviewed North's CEO who probably passed that info onto channel 7 news.

No doubt with border closures, they'll probably throw this fixture in the bin and we'll start the season hubbing in WA before moving onto Darwin, Cairns and then settling into SE Queensland for the rest of the year.

If 25K capacity,  the only people to miss out would be members that don't jump online in the first couple of days of sales.

I think the record crowd at the G for a Melbourne V Freo game is 27K in 2017.

Home games at the Gee no problem if we have 25 to 30 thousand paid up members turn up. Should have priority if it comes with a designated seat.

If there is  50 to 60 thousand cap to the Richmond game and the Queens Birthday game against Collingwood we have them as our home games in 2021  lets see what sort of an outcome eventuates with the seating;  Interesting times ahead.

I would not worry DS. There will be lots of oldies like me that won't be tempting fate and not going. You will get in no trouble. You can have my spot for starters.

There will be at least 5 to 10 more seats than normal as WA Premier won't let the usual supporters leave the state to travel to see them.

WA election is the week before so he will carry on being the tough guy till then.

There will be some areas not opened up depending upon the expected crowd

remember you have to pre purchase tickets prior to turning up so can only purchase Tickets from those offered at the agency (ticketec or Ticketmaster)

Your scenario will be tested at games like The Round1 as with vs Vic  teams the Southern Stand would  normally be needed To fit the crowd in.

The Premium Area sounds Like a reserved seat aree whic could be smallish do no problem but as for opening up all the top tierr of the Southern Stand  I would forget it.

More of the sections would be available fir larger crowds but if 50,000 are allowed for each week the seating the same fir  each game Would most likely apply. Remember Covid distancing will be applied in some form.

In Brisbane some areas have had tickets Sold in twos with gaps of two or one.Later groups of up to six have been sold also at the Test match last week.

If the crowd allowed is 50,000 ie half Then each area is opened up but PRE SOLD not on the day at the ground but online at home or on the phone,

As long as you are speaking for yourself OD.  Not all oldies are ambivalent about attending like you.

Rest assured the plans for crowd numbers and style will have to be approved fir Covid health rules.

Any one is free to wear a mask to any game if they feel threatened.in any way also on the train or bus there.

Lets get as big a crowd as we can to start the season with a win urged on by a pro Dees loud and excited crowd to give the team a real boost.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
