So if they should call Georgia why not call Arizona? Oh that’s right because Trump and his supporters are too stupid to stick to a single narrative.
Can’t have it both ways big boy ?

How about this one for logic (Trump-style)

He and his crazed followers are calling for the vote to be stopped.

"Stop the Count" (ad nauseum)

But if that happened then Biden would be declared the winner as he leads in enough States to win

So we should grant them their wish yeah?  ?

Trump is like a football team that's a point up halfway through the last quarter, the fresher opposition is coming home with the wind, and they want to stop the match now so they win.

Trump wants the counting to stop in the States he's ahead in but keep going in the one he's behind in.

Trump has already won.  His lead is unassailable in too many of the leftover states even with voter fraud factored in.

How about the democrats though?   Losing the election so just stop counting and shut things down for the night.  They are disgusting and you wouldn't even see that level of corruption and fraud in the 3rd world.

Trump is obviously mentally disturbed: he rants and raves like a spoilt child who wants to bully everyone in the kindergarten. That he is taken seriously enough to gain the millions of votes he has gained tells me the US is a similar entity.

In the meantime, It occurred to me that surely there are people in the US who can step in and take the man to the asylum/gaol where he belongs, along the lines of The Caine Mutiny. Trump is a caricature of Captain Queeg, though much more demented.

My popcorn is in danger of going stale.

I'm still floored by the fact that Trump increased his vote. I have applied varying attempts at logic and they all fail.

Could it be that democracy as we know it is perhaps not the most efficient form of government when in so many countries it can be manipulated by religion race and sheer ignorance. Problem is I can't think of a better one.

What is even more worrying is who will the Republicans put up in 2024.....Ivanka Trump perhaps.

If you've never seen it watch Game Changer an insider version of Sarah Palin and John McCain in 2008. We all laughed at it but it was a true portent of US politics.

Mind you the Democrats are not free of fault when they put up such tired hacks as candidates.

To quote Churchill, "Democracy is the worst form of Government except for all the others".

I think we take it for granted here in Australia. Hundreds of years of evidence shows pretty clearly that people living in democracies have a much, much better quality of life than those in other Governments. I have a good friend from Iran; hearing her talk of daily life back home is pretty confronting.

In the case of developing countries democracy is often a brake on economic development as it results in the inefficient delivery of resources to satisfy elements of the constituency.

It's all about trade offs.

Most of the so called democratic countries outside the West are rife with corruption and cronyism.

Iran is a democracy but it has been perverted by a religious overlay. Turkey is fast going down a similar path.

Vietnam seems to have achieved a decent balance but who knows it could do a China and crackdown on everything.

Then you have many of the former Soviet States which are all democratic to some extent and in the main are basket cases from an economic viewpoint.

Australia lucked into compulsory voting, preferential voting and a mainly two party system. It delivers a largely workable system and fingers crossed it continues. The recent border closures shows however how fragile the Federation is when faced with major challenges.

The democrats and mass voter fraud are like two peas in a pod.

Biden, the worst candidate of all time (somehow even worse than Hillary),  has the most votes ever?  More than Obama?   They aren't even trying to hide it.

Trump warned for months about mail in voter fraud.  He was right as always.

Despite all this, Trump will win.  Even if it needs to go all the way to the Supreme Court.  He already won election night until the 6 democrat run states just stopped counting.  And some people think thats ok.  Wow.

Hilarious!!!!

It was Trump who was demanding that they stop counting!  Trump did not want them to count legitimate votes that were not cast on the actual day of the election.

You don't get it, do you?  There are two possibilities... first, Biden has polled so well because people DO NOT want another 4 years of Trump and would vote for Blind Freddy and his dog if it would see him ousted, or second, Trump, who has increased his vote to a record high as well, by your standard (you can't have it both ways), would indicate that he too is engaging in electoral fraud.

So far, all of his appeals to the courts, but one, have been rejected... probably due to the fact that he has not a skerrick of evidence that there has been any fraud at all. Perhaps you can direct us to a legitimate site that details the fraud that is going on - even Trump himself doesn't seem to have been able to articulate it.

I fear you are being driven by your hip pocket and the fact that you stand to lose badly financially... but you know what they say... a fool and his money...

The Fox election day coverage was quite good with a balanced panel and a decision making backroom panel etc.

Over the last two days they have moved back to their normal commentators/hosts and  boy is it biased. Watching this morning as a guest complained about scrutineers not being allowed in etc and the host nodded and then expressed vehement agreement. (Neither mentioned that it was all about the Republicans wanting MORE scrutineers)

For this to happen doesn't it require

1 The tally room vote counters have to be corrupt

2 The poll observers have to be corrupt.

Surely there is equal representation for both sides. It is well known that mail in votes heavily favour the Democrats so Trump has been peddling this BS for a while. He's the one trying to steal the election by denying counting of legal votes.

In fairness the most documented rigging was that of Democratic Mayor Daley of Chicago and the Teamsters Union.

JFK owed his presidency to the deals done by his bootlegging father with the boys from Chicago as did Truman and many others.

The Republicans appear to have more relied on gaming the system (voter control/racism) for their wins.

One thing bought up in this election was the concept of vote harvesting where a middleman is paid to deliver completed postal votes. Not really sure how it works and who pays but certainly a worry.

I'm sure many dead people have voted for both sides in Australian politics. Not sure we have ever done much to deter the practice if it is still occurring.

Wasn't aware of the history. It's interesting when you mention voter control, Trump also tried to somewhat shackle the postal system so that some votes arrive too late to be counted.

Had to laugh at Trumps comment of voter suppression. Firstly numbers of votes this year are higher than ever, that’s a good thing as it shows engagement to the democratic process. Secondly the republicans have engaged in so many voter suppression tactics over the years geared towards preventing African Americans from being able to have their say.

For a country that prides itself on being seen as the shining beacon of democracy they really do a lot of nasty tactics to discourage certain demographics from voting.
