Eddie is an embarrassment. Sidebottom F'ed up big time. Own it and move on instead of whinging like a child.

As he has been with Goodes and 'H'...

They could get on the front foot with all these issues and move on.

...but Ed's just incapable of admitting fault.

I really hope it derails their season.

There isn't a less deserving club of a Premiership...

4 weeks is a fair whack. Deserved

maybe the conspiracy theorists can relax for a while

Sorry to disappoint, but 4 weeks is not a fair whack compared to Spargo's 2 -  a youngish non-leader got rubbed out for 2 weeks for a far less serious offence than those committed by a senior VC (leader++) of C'wood.   I'm staying unrelaxed about the penalty being only 2 more weeks.   If Spargo was 1 week and Koz one week or fined, then maybe 4 would be a 'fair whack'.  And C'wood are still whinging, though at least they  finally decided against appealing.

not the wrong door!

outstanding work from ed

wtf.......

Ive been cooked plenty and never has this once happened or heard of it happening.

Let's just entertain the 1% chance he did walk out the wrong door. What state of mind would you have to be not realise , when the door shut and your outside that the best thing to do is knock on the door and get Wellsy to let you back in.

"Nope I think I'll just walk home in the freezing cold half naked, I live just around the corner don't I?"

Deadset yoou hear of these stories when someone has been on the shrooms or something similar , not just alcohol and or the usual "stuff"

Can’t wait for the next time come steaming drunk and the wife is not best pleased.

im not drunk, I’m disoriented! I’m the victim here!

But Wellsy is a great church going man, that wouldn't happen at his place!!

That's the other part of the story I don't get, did Steele bring a bottle of scotch with him to the Wells house, as it was said earlier he doesn't drink or did i not read that correctly?

Yeh that de Gooy.

May be Eddie needs to get his old boots dubbined.

My old stops had the triple nails/brads. Of course that elitist from Broadie probably has those new fangled screw-in stops.

I know we often question the lack of 'culture' and what the MFC stands for, but thank god it's nothing like that of the filth's.

The state of that club at the minute is questionable, to put it politely, and how Eddie as president continually wipes his hands of responsibility is something else altogether.

He's on a whole different level to Teflon Dan. Up there with the likes of President's Xi Jinping and Putin with their elite levels of untouchability.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
