When the 4 game fixture was announced our game this weekend was to be televised FTA on Ch 7:

I have noticed that the FTA coverage has disappeared now from the broadcast guide on the AFL site:

https://www.afl.com.au/broadcast-guide-premiership

Same also when checking the TV guide for this week.

What is going on?

The broadcast arrangements were revised last week. I wonder if the agreement came into effect immediately and our game this week was booted from its free to air spot.

None of the other games on the Sunday are listed as free to air. The sunday arvo game rolls in to the news (which is why it starts at 3:20) so channel 7 wouldn't want the other ones so is perhaps it is an oversight?

Nothing on the MFC site yet.

Clicking on the second link provided by George it does show our game as FTA. Maybe it was fixed a short time ago.C815B906-DCA7-449D-9640-FCF83DF1EC6D.thumb.jpeg.6cfdf29011fe031713757b422e199f22.jpeg

That’s funny, when I clicked it the channel 7 ‘free to air tv’ logo definitely wasn’t there.

Edit: The game time is showing as 1:35pm for me so it’s picked up that I’m in Perth therefore won’t be on 7 over here.

Uts the same as fir the next 2 rounds vs Geel and Sydney

Seems to me the AFL site is not being maintained well at present. Last weekend it was very difficult to find  the game date scores etc.

They have a new web provider apparently. The format is very similar to that used in soccer and NRL with timelines etc. The stats page is all over the place (or is it just different). One stat that I could not find was hit outs.

The match day function is a a mess compared to the simple format they used to have.

In the end of the day they are trying to make money out of it and info for fans is secondary. I really object to being funneled through their site for internet radio coverage. Just a way of getting more clicks for their advertisers...may as well employ a click farm for all the good it does.

That website is a bleedin' joke!  Can't find anything of any use very easily!  And, the MFC site is just as bad...!!

The website is a disgrace for such a big organization

has been for a long time, and as soon as they get it stable they introduce a lot of format changes which don't improve anything and just introduce new bugs

telstra must give a good discount because they don't provide quality web design

agree, but they seem to have plumbed new depths now.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
