Might go down the soft propaganda route and give mine to someone that's never been to a game of football and has no current allegiance to any team. Softly softly catchee monkey.

A way of getting potential customers in Jaguar dealers. Might go to one for a sticky. I closed the Holden dealer a few months back could be the kiss of death for Jaguar! I wonder how many will actually bother to get the scarf. It is not as though you can use it.

Send it to  Barack Obama.  It couldn't hurt.

If he ever visits Melbourne,  he might drop by.?    A  coup-Dee-gras.

Do you wear your dees scarf to a restaurant for a night out in winter?

That would certainly be a classy addition to our football brethren but if I were to send it to a political figure that I admire it would probably have to be Nicola Sturgeon ???????

Yes, every time. Don't you?

I bought a few extra memberships to support the club so I have eight scarves on the way. A few will end up stuck to cars displaying West Coast bumper stickers.

Sorry Mr. Shadow not sick enough to take that bait.

She's our First Minister and arguably the only competent politician in the UK currently. Not that many people would argue mind. Barack would be next in line but his allegiance is to the Chicago White Sox I think and he also prefers to shoot hoops in his free time.

Sometimes the MFC scarf is the only thing I don when I go out.

Thinking I might wear mine face mask style on my daily commute.

...not that anyone much in Bris Vegas will know what it's about, but will proudly fly our colours anyways.

If we had won that day then yes. It's red and blue. If I was a freo fan back when they had purple green and red then probably not.

Probably an age thing, I wear one to the game then back in the closet till the next game. I actually wear older ones than the last few years as the  models of recent years have got smaller and I prefer the bigger ones of years gone by. I think the 2019 scarf is still in its plastic bag. Would I wear one away from a game? Never the only exception would be after a GF victory.

I'm still waiting for the email. Anyone else not receive it?

(And yes, I have checked the 'junk' and 'spam' folders. Plus, I do get other e-mails for MFC)

... still waiting for the 2013 scarf,  it's  "in the mail".    bloody AusPost.   Have they heard about  'tracking'  yet.?   ?

A lot of members must be getting scarfs as all spots at the Jaguar dealers are filled. Only spot left is the mcg gate 3

Well that seals it I won’t be getting the 2020 version. Anyone know what colour red they have used this year. And will get a scarf made in Melbourne next year? Oh I forgot we sold the machines to China.

I also didn't get the email.  I contacted the club and they have confirmed it wasn't sent to me at least, but they said it was a problem at the AFL end....either software or email lists.....

At least they are looking at it.  Thank goodness for Demonland

I wouldn't mind someone explaining what this actually means. My initial interpretation is that the AFL appears to be administering the club's relationship with its members. I'm not sure that's a good idea, although perhaps it's one way to reduce the club's costs.

I suspect you are right about cost reductions.  It took the club a couple of days to respond, citing a reduced number of admin staff at the club, so having certain functions "outsourced" to the AFL may have happened.

Another example is the membership tally which has only been updated twice in the past 3 weeks...again probably now done at AFL HQ after getting the data from Ticketmaster...

Got the Scarf and keyring (the redhead) from Jaguar. Easy.Nice.

Went to the 'G for my pick up. Four key rings included - Viney, Gawn, Harmes, Brayshaw caricatures - per member was a neat touch HOWEVER, the club missed an opportunity.

Since the pick up was at Gate 3 there should have been a merchandise stand as well or at least a sign directing people to the demonshop near Gate 7  which was open but (when I was there) deserted!

There was nothing to tell members the shop was open or to display what was available a few hundred meters away. And no sign on the door of the shop that it was even open. Management needs to be more assertive, even pushier, to move those merchandise sales.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
