or you can just skip to the last 2 minutes.

Reckon the happiest bloke on the ground besides Salem was Howe, who with seconds to go, spoiled a Demon at CHB, who was going to take the match saving, uncontested chest mark. Howe knocked it away, giving the Bombers one more chance to score and win the game.

AFL/Telstra so hopeless the stream went from somewhere in the third back to the start.

Ha ha essenscum were meant to have there 20 year reunion today where all the players attended and they were going to have a function.Ā

A good win but as it was a crappy game, I really wouldn’t rate it. There is a few more glorious victories over the Essenscum Fc.
Imo we should go back to round 12 1993. Jakovich kicks 8 and we win by 5 goals. A young David Neitz showcased his future as well.Ā Bombers were premiers in 1993 but we gave it to them and their supporters that day.Ā

I watched round 11 2011 - Max's And Jeremy Howe's first game along with a host of young talent: Scully, Trengove, Watts et al.Ā  A bitter sweet run and gun experience.Ā  Just so sad to know what was to follow after that terrific game

Salem was the best option for that mark and goal. Dawes would have spilled the mark for sure.Ā

A genuinely exciting night.Ā  Gysberts tore it up in the midfield as well.

Sad to look back at that line-up, that had the potential to play such exciting football, just melt away.

Ā

That game just reminded me of how much we lost with Watts and Kent gone.Ā  I know they both had issues, but we are so desperate for players who can deliver to their forwards.Ā  We seem to have focused too heavily on contested ball-winners and forgotten about the ability to use it once they have it in their hands.Ā

Why do you say "contested ball winners"

How about "culture",Ā  'RM'.?

And ability to train and stay fit to a high level.Ā  And commitment to club first attitudes.?

I've watched the last two minutes of this game many times.
It always amazes me that, even up until the moment the ball touches Cross's foot, Der-wayne is still yelling that Dawes is the only option.

Stubbornly ignorant man.

Ā

Our talls were Jamar, Dunn, TMAc, Dawes, Pedo, Frawley. Ā Dunn and TMac did OK back, but thought Pedo was a liability for most of the game, Dawes and Frawley did OK, Jamar limited and lumbering.

Our talls round 1 2020:Ā May, Omac, Max, TMac, BrownĀ and Tomlinson. Ā Hmmm...add Jackson and Weid, or even Preuss? Ā

So many names on the rest of the field that make you wince: A blood nut in 13 that is not Clarrie. A field full of possibilities. Ā Early days for Viney, Salem and Petracca. Ā

And it sounds like this was the game during the injection scandal kicking off for the bombers.

Salem really did play the "super sub" role that night, I think most of the time coming on as a sub meant they had very little impact but Salem was awesome. He smothered, he tackled, and most importantly he kept a cool head when needed most.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
