No. Just Victorian Clubs is what i mean...

Sorry bad phrasing by me. What I believe is, if their states don't allow fly in/out, they'll be required to hub over here until they do, thereby enabling all clubs to participate

...and watch Collingwood get to play WCE, Fremantle and the S.A. sides in Victoria  as "away" games in the first of the hub games.....then when the hubs are removed, they can play all their home  games in Vic.

surely the AFL would not allow that ?

Seriously though with the WA and SA govt positions this is starting to look like a real mess. Like many the AFL assumed they would roll over as NSW and Qld did for rugby league but it's proving a little tougher

Fine. Just don't have SA or WA clubs in the comp this season. In fact announce it today and watch the premiers crawl into a hole.

So anyone have any idea who might be our R2 opponent?  Its such an interesting proposition from now on, going 0-2 witha poor percentage in a 17 round year is equivalent of being 1-4 after 5, long way back. Im starting to get excuted about the prospect of footy, seing Pickett again, watching Jack Viney competitive instincts take over again, what will Petracca do? Can Fritsch be the jack in teh pack and is Tim McDonald a good forward or did he just have a good run? will May and Lever stay on the park? and the most exciting is will Bennell be a factor. Its not footy as we know it, but its something.

well looks as though it wont be Collingwood or Richmond.

I wouldn't mind the Swans or Hawthorn. Both are 50/50 games if we are going to be any good and a win would give the team and supporters a confidence boost. Going 0-2 not to mention 0-3 would just kill my interest for the year and given there isn't much to do on perpetual lockdown that would not be good.

We'll get Suns or Port or North as home game for sure... Big viewing games...

Interesting concept of donation.

If followed through the club  will need to offer a clear choice between donation or refund/credit. Careful what you wish for is my suggestion.

It sucks for the WA and SA clubs but you'd imagine in oder to give them compensation for having to do hubs they will try to give them long runs at home leading to the end of the season.

I still think it's an overreaction by the WA and SA governments to impose such strict situations on AFL clubs, but at the same time I get it. Both states have prevented outbreaks, while WA in particular has vulnerable communities that could cause massive problems. Health trumps professional sport.

I wonder if the AFL has put forward to both States a mini hub of their own, as both states have low amounts of cases could the WA/SA clubs play each other first. Then thats at least three games, maybe over a week and a half/2 week period that they aren't in a hub.

The AFL are playing with Fire

This Germ is still alive and it is still in Victoria. Winter is almost here..

Full contact Sport and they expect all players to stay home for 20 weeks....

Popcorn time....

South Australia has thrown the AFL’s season restart timeline into doubt, telling the league it will not be providing quarantine exemptions to Adelaide and Port Adelaide players.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
