The club can provide an update without going into specifics or commercially confidential information.

Maybe they feel a public announcement committing us to Caulfield doesn’t help their position in negotiations?

Feasible they are telling the trust/MRC ‘it’s either the site we want (or site you want but with fewer parties sharing the facilities) or we go to Waverley or back to the drawing board’.

We will or maybe be leasing an area from the Trust.

The school and the racing club have nothing to do with our negotiations.

The school isn’t involved in negotiations, that is right. Their deal with the MRC ahead of ours just altered the landscape for the MFC, pardon pun.

As incumbent tenants the MRC is absolutely involved, even though it is the Trust’s land. Also, in one scenario they get a new headquarters out of it, in another they don’t.

Correct, the school slowed things down and the MRC wanted us on the north side - we want to be on the south side. Reckon we'll win that argument. Big meeting this Thursday. That doesn't mean, of course, that we will get an announcement or an update from the Club immediately.

I thought the MRC didnt want us on the North side as they want to move the GlassHouse pokies venue there.?

Getting lost in my north’s and south’s here but I think the gist of it is the MRC would like to house the Dees, themselves and the glasshouse all in one spot…

Not sure about the pokies, but I am pretty certain that we will get to where we want to be which is in that south-eastern corner, the closest spot to be able to access the ovals. And that access issue is one of the remaining matters to be sorted out...

I heard from a player they will announce move to Waverley after we announce Caulfield.

So no move to Waverley then…………….Some good news at last.

In that the southeast corner doesn’t have an existing tunnel to access the inner (but the north option does)?

That's correct. The north option is quite a distance from the existing road tunnel and therefore would be sub-optimal for us. But access to the ovals from the south still to be agreed.

We have won 1 Premiership in the past 61 years! 2 GF appearances.

Essendon, North and Carlton have won multiples over that period of time.

Brisbane are lining up for their 3 Premiership in a row and off the back of the past 3 GF's. They are able to attract Oscar Allen and Sam Draper.

Geelong have played in 6 GF's since 2000 with 3 wins.

All have 1st rate facilities and they consistently are at the top end of the ladder (except North, who also have second rate facilities) . Their players are better prepared.

They spend their time actually training instead of sharing facilities with soccer and rugby clubs, or driving for 90 minutes each time they go to Casey.

In elite sport it is the small advantages which make the difference. For us we are at a huge disadvantage each and every year.

My thoughts exactly George. I hope perhaps desperately that Caulfield gets the green light very soon but I am far from confident.

Note sure why we are expecting an update soon, most are on or just back from annual leave ... Dec would have been the best chance

Caulfield WONT HAPPEN, mark my words and Casey... really is a disaster! Whoever thought it a good idea should walk the plank. If Waverley is still available take and Pray!

Not pointing this at you WWW, but that’s rubbish. The club can provide an update without going into specifics or commercially confidential information.

The point being There is no update!!

Withering on the vine in my view. Again there is now way the government is going to fund this in this political environment

Why is everything so bloody difficult and complex for our club, I question why Pert & board chose Caulfield with so many stake holders and variables, considering the time was spent on the failed site around AAMI park precinct which was touted in 2018! We are now knee deep in Caulfield with a possibility it may fail whilst the rest of the competition as jumped secured their home bases! Hawks have managed 2 in the last 25yrs no where near hawthorn! Goodwin may have taken a shot on his way out but saying he want miss driving to Casey should ring hard in the heads of the board!

It seems difficult and complex in the context of how long it has been and for how long we've been talking aboit a "home" (decades).

Everyone has gone through this. It doesn't make for big news bevause when Hawthorn, Essendon, Richmond, St Kilda, Footscray have gone through it they've already had homes. Footscray had to go to Mordor and back to get their redevelopment off the ground.
