Of course though I'm sure if you asked the players they would prefer to train across the road from the G instead of in the middle of nowhere at least once or twice a week.

I used to attend training at Gosch's during the year. Particularly during pre season. Have I missed it? Yes. But wether we get back there now or November does not worry me.

I suspect the Captain prefers Casey. In fact, anyone who lives on the Mornington Peninsula may feel that way. It would be a significantly shorter trip for them than travelling to Gosch's.

Training at Gosch's with a couple of Demon supporter mates followed by a boozy counter lunch.

Always a good day!

When is the next one Bbo?

Had a wander around Gosch's this morning, nobody there.

My guess is, friday morning captains run!

I'll go past tomorrow and give you my thoughts afterwards.

Hopefully the squad will be there!

Why? Casey is fine!

Casey is great OD.

Just want to be back in the precinct though and see them lighting it up on an occasional drive past Gosch's during the week 🙂

Something is being set up.

Cones are going out.

Tmac doing some run throughs.

The oval has been raised by a little less than 1/2 a meter.

There is a slight camber, with the peak in the middle.

A camera is up on the net post at both goals.

Plenty of flood lights on 4 poles.

Beautiful looking surface.

 No trees missing

Lever is out there, as is Weids, Tomlinson, Bedford

Exercises seem to be about getting them thinking

They are making plenty of noise

Looks like they're doing the captains run?

A running commentary on the session would be appreciated thanks Kevy... 😁

There into the lines.

Mids working on no look kicks from the clearance, then the connection from back to forward. Going 3/4 pace

Forwards working off the marking bag, and the back 6 doing some lead up and outs.

Now its some competitive sims, all out there, white, yellow, orange and red. Coaches included. No tackling.

The sims broke into a smaller group and got a bit more serious, only for 5 mins, still no tackling

Goal kicking now. Push ups for misses, for the entire group

Our number 50, has done nothing other than walk around. Bit of a worry.

Had a talk to Buddy the MFC assistant.

Tells me they love the surface as do the women

Beautiful morning, storm is training and Victory are just setting up.

The boys are up and about

All over now, short and sweet.

The not picked group are out there now.

Looks like Joel is in the main group.

Had a look today. Brown/Weid/Fritsch/Melksham and Jackson in a forward group to begin, marking on jumping bag, leading/goal kicking. Petty/May/Lever/Tomlinson/Rivers/Hibberd in defensive group. Lever mostly used as designated kicker during drills

Rest of side were doing stoppage/ ball movement work at this stage

Team then moved into match sim, notably Brown stood watching from the side, seems to be some issue

Only omission from the main group in the 26 was Dunstan, who ran out with the secondary group afterwards.

Petracca/Fritsch trying to get a lot of set shots in

Clarry in a glove and handballing with the left

I dropped by briefly and couldn’t sight Fritsch, so good to hear he was out there!

Didn't have his number on, and wore a beanie, so he was a little hard to spot at a glance

Fritter must've had a big beanie on to hold in that do!

Thanks Kev and others who are providing training reports.

I fully expect some outrage somewhere that we're not tackling at training, though!

I think because of the short week and it being the captains run, they went easier.

Probably also protecting Oliver, and as a guess Tracc.

Tracc was seriously practising his set shots. Most were on target, with a beautiful flight.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
