May I add my thanks to all who take the time and effort to post these regular reports.  Very much appreciated.

However there is one recurring question for which I can’t remember seeing the answer:  what is holding KK back?   Should we hold out any hope at all or is just anything a bonus from here on in?

Without being funny, think any news on KK should  come from the club

He has been out running last couple of sessions

With KK he appears to be fulfilling his contractual obligations until extra medical reports come through and / or mfc and perhaps even afl insurance sort out a payout where club and player probably manually agree that its unsafe for him to continue. mfc also probably looking to get an extra player on the list if it happens. As l said its a hunch but seems to be following a familiar path.

Just another voice of thanks for the great training reports. As an interstater I obviously can’t go watch training but even if I did I doubt I’d pick up on the detail you guys do. Awesome stuff.

I’ve seen a few calls for balance in the reports - personally at this time I’m looking for all the reasons we’re going to be awesome. Reality may or may not kick in later, and that’s fine, but it’s not what I’m interested in in the off season.

For me, a yes to any training update which has the natural bias of the reporters whether respectfully positive or negative. Can we afford to be picky? No to misleading reports. Remembering that this time last year we were being told the mfc were going to make the top 4 when no one was on the park training

Everybody was on the park training last year, to varying levels, a lot of the ops were upper body, so did not preclude them from running

Every team looks a million dollars in pre season, that never changes 'training the house down'

The fact players miss kicks in hot and windy weather is neither here nor there, as long as the poor kicks can be eradicated on match day

But then show me a team that is clanger free

Any word on when the final training session for the year will be..?

(fingers crossed they could put it on a Saturday)

There is no way in the world we looked a million bucks last year in training with the reserve team basically doing the vast proportion of the 'football' type training drills early and many senior players stuck in rehab / walking / bikes or resting. Was obvious very early on that 2019 was going to be difficult and we wouldn't be able to match the performances of the year prior, unfortunately it was worse than even l thought at the time

I think it goes without saying that I’d like to be told the truth - if half the side is injured then that’s an issue I’d like to know about. All I’m saying is I don’t need the reports to be “tempered”.

Call me an old romantic but I would like to see KK get fit, get picked (on merit) and play a couple of games, then -- if he's not up to it -- retire. Like with Trengove. Retire with no question marks, and dignity.

(Having said that, if Trengove hadn't been forced to play with a busted foot .......................................................)

Trengove nominated for the draft this year.

I hope KK just retires. There is more to life than this. Much more.

I assuming he has and that he is just seeing out his contract.

Why would anyone bother with this (bolded) if your scenario is in fact the case?

And what was so apparent that gave rise to this rather detailed speculation?

And what's this familiar path you speak of? Lumumba? Or another instance?

Also, what's a manual agreement? Sounds like a (censored) in the parking lot.

It is just Demons 1858 way of saying " I don't know what is wrong with KK but I wish I did so I will just take a stab in the dark and presume I'm right"

firstly, a hunch is based on intuition and less about facts so you can take it or leave it! in any case, players with no obvious injuries that do long stints of light duties is a sign of something is not quite right. keeping in mind he has had all preseason to get his head and body right. if he still has concussion issues or has been told another concussion may have major consequences then the player and club (if in agreement) will naturally negotiate terms for the remainder of the contract.  until then keep turning up to training so your contract isn't broken in case something falls through but play it safe on light duties.

a hunch is based on intuition, you can take it or leave it like most of the opinions in this forum! time will tell but the silence from the club if deafening.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
