Dare to dream Pick3 Young    Pick8 Stephens/Kemp    PSD2 Jack Martin      Supplementary Rookie : Harley Bennell

My dare to dream

1. Nominate Green. GWS matches

2. Split 4 for Freo’s 7 and 10

3. Young with 7

4  Stephens with  8

5 Weightman with 10

Draft Order

1 Rowell

2 Anderson

3 Green

4 Jackson

5 Flanders

6 Kemp

7 Young

8 Stephens

9 Ash

10 Weightman

Young will not last that long. He’s a certain top 5 pick. If we split the pick, we miss him.

I’m hoping we hold onto 3 + 8 and take Young and Stephens.

A very solid outcome unless we can split 8 and still land Stephens with say 10/11 & a bonus of Pickett with a third pick somewhere around 30 to 40.

The Hawks have 11 & 30.

With Freo having Robertson, Jackson and Henry around their picks why would they trade?

If they pick Robertson at 7,  then they have to hope that ourselves or Carlton ( who have both indicated they are interested in small forwards)don’t pick Henry or they will be forced to match bid or else miss out on him. Doing a deal with us is their best way to secure 2 top 10 picks and Henry.

Rewatched Henrys highlights, he will be a star and is an impressive young lad, so yes an early bid as you say by us or Carlton would be on the cards.

If it is Young and Jackson, I bag Display name Chloe. :)

But seriously no turf is more Melbourne than the Flinders St Station precinct. it is the city end.

Swap Kemp with Stephens and that is my dream scenario too.

Listening to Jason Taylor on Road To Draft podcast - Luke Jackson in the frame for pick 3. They see him as a forward option. Don't think he will be a full-time ruckman at AFL level. If we draft him, he will be part of the forward group. Interesting to hear considering he's barely played forward and has played pure ruck through the year. Seems we may get a 'tall forward' after all...

I certainly hope not LT.  Pert should be intervening on this IF Taylor (Goody) is/are seriously considering a ruckman at 3

No he shouldn't. He's the CEO, not the list manager or talent scout.

If, as a CEO or footy manager, you don't trust the judgement of your recruiting manager, then they should be your recruiting manager.

Young and Kemp. Young because he has kicking ability we need and is rated number 3 in most phantom drafts. Kemp because he would be and was rated number 3 prior to his knee issue. Pick for best available in the top 10 selections.

so how many times have u seen these guys live?

I think the recruiters know more than phantom drafts on bigfooty

So I cannot have a preference. And the phantom drafts I speak of are Cal Twoomey, not big footy. So once again. Young and Kemp.?

Twomey and Doerre ....

Young & to a lessor extent Kemp both prominent in that win (statistically anyway...didn't see the match).

Rowell was a cut above that day. Anderson and Young also played well and showed they could match it against men. Bianco was also good with his dash. If we had a second round pick, he'd be right in our cross hairs. He'll wind up a decent little player IMO

Yes Bianco also seems to figure in other matches at this level.  I haven't seen any footage

Bianco is projected as a pick 15-30 type. He’s a small-medium player who has good kicking skills and a bit of dash. Played mainly wing and  halfback flank. I reckon we’d be right into him if we had a second round pick to use.

Footy (sporting) clubs can rise and fall on the back of one monumental mistake GLG.  Sorry but there are times when a CEO needs to step up and be counted and that would be one of them.

Pert is not a babe in the woods.  He would know when he sees a mega blunder looming and if he didn't act then he isn't doing his job and may as well walk himself.

98.5% of the time certainly.  But there comes a very rare time when it's a must...

Rowell is clearly the pack leader for 2019 LT but i would have Anderson and Young not that far apart either.  Anderson possibly by a nose as by all accounts he has the ability to kick a few handy goals pushing forward.

There is a top 3 (☝?) and a bit of daylight from there imv.

Personally, if we're to go by highlights, Dylan Stephens is exactly what our midfields lacks & needs. Speed, class & goals - Fantastic point of difference from the kid.

I've timestamped 3 bits of vision below that have impressed me more so than most highlight packages thus far.

1. @ 1:03

2. @ 2:06

3. @ 2:36

Maybe it's Dylan we're looking to make an early jump on? I hope so.

wow, Dylans highlights are by far the most impressove, reminds me of robbie flower

I can see us taking Young 3 and Stephens 8 if available.

Stephens is versatile. Can play wing, outside mid and half forward. Has a lot of zip!

I do think Adelaide would be prepared to take him with Pick 4.

I'm not sure picking 1 18 year old over another is the 1.5%, but each to their own.

Pert was reportedly far too involved in the Collingwood FD during his tenure there. I'd be loathe to see him doing the same here.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
