Can we delist a rookie or something to pick him up? He’s better than 5-6 on our list already IMO.

Overall we have 2 list spots available as either Senior List or Rookies.

We can't delist a Rookie but we can upgrade one or we can opt not to take Brown or Bennell.   There is no hurry to decide on them.

Upgrade Lockhart and rookie Bennell and Sokol would be ideal IMO.

So No Brown then?

Hoping he's on a list of many - including 18 year olds not drafted - that we get down to train and have a closer look at.

2 free spots on the list, we can't have allocated them both to Mitch Brown and a bloke who hasn't played in 5 years.

Mitch Brown ? really don't see the appeal personally

Rather take a punt on a younger kid not picked up in the draft and hope they surprise

Sokol is 24 and kicked 60 goals 35 behinds in the WAFL this year, including 6.3 in the grand final.

Brown is 30 next season and just had his best year kicking 21.13 in a team where he was the main target with Daniher out and Hooker swinging back and forward.

We'd get 1-2 years out of Brown at most, and the best we could hope for is probably 25 goals or so.

We'd get 5+ years out of Sokol and potentially far more goals and flexibility than Brown.

I'd be taking Sokol ahead of Brown.

What type of player is Sokol.  Who would he replace in the best 22?  How much coverage for the Sokol position do we have and how much coverage for the Brown position do we have.

I think it's more about list balance than anything.

Plays well at the level,  Brown for me....

Sokol would be the one to choose IF BENNELL fails in his comeback.
Sokol has all the skills and smarts and goalkicking to be successful at AFL level.

This comment aged even better than you could have expected I reckon mate!

Hahaha, brilliant. Seems so long ago now.

We've had a few handy West Aussies over the years, not only on the field, but on Demonland. ;) PSD, ET, Steve and the wonderful list goes on.

Would he?  The bloke is unproven at AFL level, where as we know what we get with Brown.

I see the reasoning behind wanting someone like Sokol, but nobody picked him up.  That's telling.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
