Well I hope we're bloody confident Young won't be there at 8 to have not done it on draft night.

The only 100% fact so far is that it's not a 100% fact.

Isn’t it?

Well played by the club. We get back a second round pick and move back to pick 10.

We weren't going to use pick 50. So essentially our trade with North becomes 2020 first round pick for pick 10.

We Lose: Pick 26, 2020 first round.

We Gain: Pick 10, Pick 28, 2020 fourth round

Pick 10 might be on the move again. Early-ish days, so don't take it as gospel yet though.

Geelong a possible deal partner now.

Good get on this. Your source got anything else for us?

14 and 17 for 10 and 28?

could happen.  Geelong must have a specific target in mind and we are keen on two players to go in the teens

10 and 28 for 14 and 17 perhaps?

Gives is three first round picks.

Yeah you'd think that's what the deal would be should it happen.

If that is the scenario then I’d say Weightman would be a definite for one of those picks.

With us seemingly cooling on Young at pick 3 in favour of Jackson or Green, I wonder whether we would be targetting  Gould with pick 17. He would likely be gone by pick 28.

Your all over it Lord New. Do you think Weightman is a chance to get to 14?

Weightman is a VERY high chance to get to us. May depend if another club pulls the trigger earlier than us, but from what I've heard the club is dead keen on him.

Interestingly, they may be shifting towards Green over Jackson, then the ball will be in GWS' court. Doesn't seem like Young will be a Dee at this stage, but that's just opinion.

Bidding for Green helps the value of pick 10, kind of hoping we do bid. Even just for the entertainment value

Lord Nev is the number 1 on trade / draft time poster power rankings at the moment

Geelong apparently want McAsey a key defender and need to move up a bit to ensure getting  him.

Pick 3. Split? Do the Giants have anything to offer? 4 and 40. Crazy times!!!

That would have to mean our target is not Jackson or Green unless we got an understanding from GWS that they would not take Jackson at 3. I think we would want another pick in teens plus 4 given what it means to GWS.

From my very uninformed viewpoint

I would like to get kemp. If available at 10 we should keep

Someone said Stephens is coming to us at 10.

Can't remember it was on one of the threads. He\she had a source.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
